You probably won't save a lot of money from buying groceries. The food stalls sell so much that they get bulk prices, and the difference is usually their profit, so if you cook at home, it'll probably be around the same price as eating out.

I go go start a gym membership and I ask what the price is and she responds in google translate, "I am 1.5 mil dong per month". I roll my eyes and say I'm interested in GYM so on a piece of paper she writes gym and circles it and puts the price. I feel embarrassed (and too expensive) so that's the end of that.

Stop using Google translate, that's your issue. DeepL is a lot, lot better when it comes to grammar and natural sentences. Use that app, thank me later.

There was an anon here who said "why learn a language when we have google translate?". This is why. Cause Google translate is absolute fucking garbage. It's only good for translating western European languages. Everything else it's total dogshit at. I don't know why but it seems every Google app is really turning to shit.
