6 months in Taiwan

i will be in Taiwan for six months, what are some of the most interesting little-known places to visit? Also, I can speak some Chinese -- what are locals / girls like?

Are Penghu Islands worth visiting?

my favourite place was in Kaohsiung at the The British Consulate at Takow, a historical site on top of a hill with a museum. go in the afternoon and sit on the veranda drinking some tea as the sun sets. you can get the metro to nearby and there is some other things in the vicinity but it is mainly a nice little harbour area you can chill and there is a small beach around the corner.
maybe if you go to Kaohsiung for the weekend it would be a decent touristy thing to do for the afternoon. i was there for longer so spending an afternoon there was no big deal time wise

Most small towns in Taiwan all feel/look like clones of each other. But if you're looking for other shit off the path to see just search for waterfalls on Google maps and pick one to hike to. They're usually all easily reached by a bus or train stop.

Houtong cat Village is kind of cool, lots of friendly stray kitties all over and only like an hour from Taipei. It's sort of a local tourist destination, not a lot of crackas end up there.

Sun Moon Lake is fricking great also so don't skip making a trip there for a couple nights.

As for the ladies, it's Asia you homosexual. If you're white you'll have unlimited and endless chink pussy.

NTA but how easy is it getting around if you only speak English?

It depends, but you mostly don't have to worry about that, you'll always find someone that can at least understand a few words.

IMHO, if you really want to find some cool spots, basically find a qt that can act as a translator during your stay there. Taiwanese people absolutely love explaining shit to foreigners at length, even simple crap like hot pots. Taiwanese people really open up if they know you have someone that can do the translating.

I remember the first time I was going around with my ex (the first girl i've dated in taiwan). There was a pizza place in Gongguan where you could basically put whatever toppings you wanted. The pizza vendor went on a 5 minute tangent explaining that very passionately, and my gf simply translated that with "oh it's basically subway but with pizzas". That was hilarious.

You have been peddling this weird stuff about Taiwan being this rainbow-colored constant shitfest when you clearly never have been there ever.
You do realize the LGBT community is very small in Taiwan, that Taiwan is a far more conservative than anything you'll find in the West, and that the legalization of gay marriage was merely a political move to get good standing from the west ?
LGBT-friendly areas are mainly centered around one area that is ridiculously easy to avoid, and are very discreet aside from their minuscule gay pride event because they basically know no one likes them there, yet you somehow make it look like the island is just a giant Castro district.
          >trannies
You would actually have to actively look for transgender people in Taiwan to find them. I really don't understand your obsession with LGBT in general. Why do you plan your trip based on whether or not a random guy can get fricked in the ass and have a ring on his finger ? Are you gay ? Do you want some burly taiwanese man to show you some tender love ?

            I lived there before
            >gay marriage
            >gay pride parades
            >restaurants will put rainbow flag stickers on their window saying they support it and are an ally
            >guys wearing make up walking around looking like James Charles hi sisters youtube guy
            >bunch of gay bars and clubs there
            >see dudes walking around holding hands and shit normally there
also there are plenty of trans as well you just cant tell them apart since you are clearly a queer

              let's also not forget they
              >have a troony in the government
              >opened all gender trans bathrooms even in junior high schools
              >allowed people to change their gender on their ID

              >gay marriage
like I said, merely a political move to garner attention from the West. It definitely worked, since litterally nobody heard of Taiwan before that and would confuse it with Thailand.

              >gay pride parades
a once in a year event localized in very precise areas that happens in almost every other country in Asia.
              >restaurants
a ridiculously rare occurence, often localized in precise areas, like the Ximen Red House. You would have to actively seek them to find them.
              >James Charles looking gays
              >gay bars
              >people being openly gay

ok lmao you have been hanging around gay people taking you to gay places.

It's like going to the Chinatown of Paris, point out all the chinese facilities in this area, and conclude that Paris is a chinese enclave.

It's even more absurd because gays are actually regrouped in a tiny area, meaning you have litterally been actively looking for an assfricking.

                >ok lmao you have been hanging around gay people taking you to gay places
no I have seen it in nangang, donghu, zhongshan, da'an and many of the districts in the city.
                >It's even more absurd because gays are actually regrouped in a tiny area
sounds like you go to ximen and think they are all there. No that is a popular place for them to do gay shit but they are not regrouped there by force idiot, that is their gay weekend spot but you see that shit all over the city.
                also you totally ignored

                let's also not forget they
                >have a troony in the government
                >opened all gender trans bathrooms even in junior high schools
                >allowed people to change their gender on their ID

proving it wasnt a "plot for western attention"

                >sounds like you go to ximen and think they are all there.
No, i'm just telling you that that is the only majorly "gay friendly area", which is really three very avoidable bars hidden between a wall and an expo center (red house), that you wouldn't notice unless you actively went in that direction. They aren't forced to go there you fricking moron, but you probably wouldn't notice anything else because the other establishments are quasi non existent (as mentioned in my previous posts, but your love of wieners seemingly blinds you). The simple fact that you're nonchalantly pretending that you've found gay bars in nangang district of all places proves how much of a LARPer you are. I too can start naming random districts, wouldn't make it any truer. You're either a larper or a degenerate that hangs out with gay folks and their allies and then complains about actively frequenting gay bars. Maybe look for a more fitting circle of friend or accpet your true self and go suck a wiener.

                >also you totally ignored

                let's also not forget they

proving it wasnt a "plot for western attention"

I totally ignored the schizo which MO basically is "if they disagree with me, they are trans". political grandstanding doesn't make a country or isn't revelatory of its mentality.

I didn't say gay bars in those districts I said gay flag stickers on restaurants and just seeing gay dudes holding hands, trannies and having make up on like James Charles in general just gayness all around. How about you learn to read, are you taiwanese?
and yea you did ignore that other post moron

                Anonymous

                >i saw one sticker in nangang district and some others, also some asian dude looked feminine so taiwan is 200% corrupted by globohomosexual ? Why can't you believe me ? Are you taiwanese ?

The simple fact that you're shitting yourself and asking if I'm Taiwanese (i'm not, lived there 5 years tho) shows how much you know you're full of shit. Like I said above, gay friendly areas are localized and pretty fricking hidden unless you actively went on and looked for them. I only know of a few places because an expat friend of mine is gay. Even the idea of restaurants and establishments putting rainbow stickers or flags is nonsensical.

Anyway, I'm not addressing your moronic crap any further. I can't fricking fathom why would you even go to such lengths to paint Taiwan and Taipei in such a light. It's almost like you have some agenda of some kind.

...Or you are truly obsessed with being buttfricked are secretely trying to get some good addresses.

Taiwan is a hiker's paradise and a backpacker's. Taipei has a great nightlife, there are a shit ton of sights to visit, and most importantly, Taiwan has an extremely rich gastronomy (and relatively safe to eat). Provided you make a few friends there, 6 months in Taiwan would be nice.

Especiay if you take some chinese courses. This will help you anchor yourself during the day.
