It’s “nice” for a shithole. Literally plumes of plastic trash float by and the workers can’t get it out fast enough. There were tons of stays at the JW Marriott there because shill bloggers wrote how much of a “deal” it is for a time, and stupid people followed. If you like Vietnam, it’s ok for what it is. If you want a nice beach resort, it’s far outclassed by actual nice places (where normal people go)

        >clean for Vietnam

I was there for a few weeks about 7 years ago, up and down the country. I thought it was pretty clean overall, did something change? Rome was MUCH, MUCH dirtier than any place I've seen in Vietnam

I don't get it. Weren't you just complaining that its dirty? There is no plumes of plastic trash floating in the sea. The island overall is quite clean.

SighSee is more than you and another person

            Vietnam? Clean?
I mean, Italy is a dirty shithole, Rome included, and Naples in particular can put the third world to shame. But holy fuck Anon, Vietnam is drowning in trash. Literal piles of it along the roads. Sewage in the water. The cockroach & rat party that is nighttime Saigon.

Maybe I was there during some sort of massive cleanup operation but I didn't see it. In some places I saw trash-heaps, but it wasn't that bad to be honest. Never did I think "wow, this place is littered", like I did in Rome when I was there recently.

One thing i like about Phu Quoc is the lack of rats.

Just because you’re a poor low value male confined to SEA doesn’t mean you have to be bitter about people who have actually seen the world and can make comparisons across different locations at different scales

It WAS an amazing deal when it first opened, Marriott was charging 15,000 pts ($150) for a night, even through covid. For a Bill Benseley designed resort. Nowadays its like 45,000 pts. And I stay there myself yearly. Poorfags like you will never understand.

A cheap shithole is still a shithole. And if you're just going to hide inside where everything is artificial, why bother going anywhere? You can do the same in any globohomo big city. You couldn't pay me to go there.

FYI, people of means are staying at the Four Seasons, not playing silly points games

So how do you get there? By boat or flying from HCM?

Is it much more expensive than mainland Vietnam? Is it worth spending a week there?

Taking a plane is the best option. 45 mins from HCMC. Would also recommend Phu Quy if you like somewhere more natural, but it’s a three hour ferry ride

Thanks, I never knew about this place, and it's visa exemption. Are there any other place around the world like that, where the visa requirements are different than mainland/central/main region?
