Anyone been to Afghanistan since taliban took power?

Me and my mate are thinking of going to Iran and Afghanistan. We are under 30, from Eastern Europe so I don't really think that talibanbros are gonna be hostile towards us, still slightly anxious though. It's a longshot but anybody have any experience?

doesn't really sound like a good idea, a good amount of "danger tourists" are getting kidnapped over there. maybe go to north korea instead if you want to go somewhere interesting and thrilling at the same time, just follow the tour guide instructions and use common sense and you should be fine.

Difference is that we won't be anglo homosexuals trying to be edgy for a youtube video.

You're mostly fine if you're not American and don't look like a homo, apparently.

There are many reasons to go to North Korea there but that's your last destination of you're looking for thrills. The only way to go there are on highly supervised tours and Kimmy boy doesn't hesitate to lay it down on edgy kids going out of script. Google what they did to that Wambier kid

Back to Afghanistan, I think is still to early, but AFAIK the Taliban aren't against tourism as long as you don't come in SJW or coomer mode. I would keep updated on the situation and perhaps try in a year

North Korea is just about the safest destination possible for a tourist.

Safe as in delinquency, but if you're from a country that they might think you would be a useful bargaining chip they will come up with any excuse to lock you up. I wouldn't risk it if if I'm on an American or Japanese passport

Stop posting about things you have obviously zero clue about. Try traveling instead of getting all your news from FoxNews and Alex Jones.

Yeah, that's not really how hostage diplomacy works in North Korea.

Warmbier was a fricking idiot. If you commit crime in North Korea you deserve what you get.

well if you guys are going to go there, at least educate yourselves on the risks going there

    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/afghanistan-advisory.html

    https://travel.gc.ca/destinations/afghanistan

imo it just doesn't seem worth it, there are much more cooler places to go too that don't have a risk of being kidnapped. go to japan and buy some fricking exclusive hentai or to that cool sanrio theme park in tama. i just don't see the appeal.

the country is even more lawless than when the US puppet government is in power
if you are going to go I suggest somehow finding a reputable local guide and sticking with him for the trip
I don't have direct experience but I know several people who go in and out of there regularly on business/NGO work, and they describe the situation as utter chaos and desperate poverty.

yep been, june last year. posted a long report about it here. i'm white but i speak pashto. without that you'll have an incredibly hard time, and when you arrive in afghanistan a) you'll have trouble explaining yourself re. what you're doing and b) you need what's called a 'focus person,' who is essentially responsible for you and gets in trouble if you frick up. i didn't have to deal with this because of my language abilities and the fact that i'd lived in peshawar for ages (i entered through torkham), but i guess you don't have this on your side.
tldr; you'll need someone to take you around. look at ypt, untamed borders etc, i'm sure they'll be running tours to kabul and a few other areas soon enough. or search for some niche, custom travel IG accounts. best stuff in afg is deep in the south towards kandahar and helmand, though, and i doubt anyone will take you there unless you have good friends. just wait for a while, it's not optimal for tourism yet.

      Why do you speak Pashto?

learnt it specifically because i'm interested in the region's affairs and history. lived in peshawar for a bit, will go back there and to afg soon hopefully

maybe watch some youtube videos to learn more about it, there's a lot of different youtube videos you can find of different people going to afghanistan. they would probably give you better advice than what you can find here.

    Bad idea : the thread

You don't want to go there looking like a white dude AND speaking pashto like you're a fricking spy. They're still in the process of realizing the country is theirs and they're still paranoid over it. If you have a negative exchange with someone and they complain, you're fricked. If they complain for no reason, you're fricked.

Won't they? They literally gave asylum to a Belgian journalist who couldn't stay in Qatar because she was pregnant out of wedlock. Afghanistan is trying to be a semi normal country accepted by the international community. Sure, they're religious nuts, but they'd prefer not being international pariahs.

There's a difference between a political stunt like you say and free meals like OP (though I am 100% sure he's just shitposting looking for attention)
