Good question anon. I’ve always thought about going to Egypt but the pyramids seem like the only incentive and I’m not sure if that’s worth the trip.

Any anons chime in? Anything besides the pyramids worth seeing in the shithole known as Egypt?

Imagine going to Egypt and telling your family and friends that you didn't see the pyramids.

      >Anything besides the pyramids worth seeing in the shithole known as Egypt?
If you care frick all about ancient history, then probably not. If you do, there are lots of other ancient megaliths as equally impressive as the pyramids. Temples of Karnak, Hatshepsut, underground tombs in Luxor, Abu Simbel. And even I, a complete dumbass, could appreciate the museums.
On actual fun hoodrat shit, there plenty of spots to scuba dive in the red sea. It's really beautiful and warm even in the winter, and they don't care if you aren't certified. You can rent a quad for pretty much nothing and rip it across the desert in Hurghada. Or rent a scooter and ride it all over the country.
Yes Egypt and especially Cairo is a shithole, and you will be harassed constantly, but I actually really liked the shittiness and chaos of it. Wish I had spent more time there.

Yup. It's not a great experience. The Egyptian Museum was more interesting. Cairo in general is the biggest shithole I've ever seen. I only went for a day trip because my girlfriend wanted to go, while we were only holiday in Sharm.

anyone who tells you cairo isn't that bad is a larping Black person or a coping gyptoid. kabul is unironically nicer than cairo. it isn't particularly unsafe, but it's just a gigatic dusty shithole where everything is the same color and everyone is egyptian. the pyramids themselves are amazing, but the touts at the complex are fricking unbearable and will follow you into the desert and yell at you for a considerable time if you refuse to sit on their aids-ridden camel and sell your ass for it. cairo isn't particularly difficult to deal with or overwhelming if you have any proper travel experience, but it's just shit. actual nice places to visit in egypt include st. catherine, nuweiba, and dahab. sharm is fine if you like resort stuff but it's expensive and a replica of any other coastal resort in the world.

Had this experience in Marrakesh. Loads of normies told me to go and it was fricking horrible and I dreaded leaving the hotel (i didn’t on the last full day I was there). The historical sites are amazing but getting to any of them is a tiring mission. The market was shit as well. Only good part about the trip was a day trip I took to the Atlas Mountains. Yeah, frick North Africa. Everyone is a poor moron

Pyramids are worth seeing. You’d have to be moronic to go to Egypt and not visit ancient man’s most famous megaliths.

As other anons have said the rest of Egypt is kinda janky. Giza is literally right next to Cairo and Cairo is awful. You’ll be harassed by touts constantly, and any women you’re travelling with will be leered at and groped and quite easily worse. If you’re really unlucky you’ll be blown up by islamists. Good scuba in the Red Sea as well.

Why is this so common in Egypt? Even compared to other Arab countries, Egyptians are bad about this. Only country I've heard worse of was India.

A big part of it is that women are moronic. They know they are going to a place where women dress extremely conservatively, and where the guys are notorious horny touchy douchebags. So do they dress like a local so as to not stand out as a target? Or at least dress as conservative as possible? Nope. “I’m a strong womyn and I have the same right to be there and dress how I want as a MAN does”. So they make themselves into a giant beacon of flesh for the locals to lock onto and predictably reality b***h slaps them. Then they cry about it as if it couldn’t have been helped. I’m not defending those guys but I’m not gonna go to Barcelona or Paris with my wallet sticking out of my pants and then cry about it when of course someone snatches it. Women who try and dress for the situation have a pretty easy time usually. A 10/10 blonde bombshell is probably fricked but 99 percent of women ain’t that. It’s usually some 40 year old 5/10 who just HAD to show off her massive breasts to men that never see them. What could go wrong

Oh and if you don’t believe me go to literally any site talking about travel to Egypt. You’ll see women all refusing to do literally anything to help the situation. You’ll see an Egyptian try to help by offering advice on how to dress, and you’ll see them jump on him like a pack of hyenas.

Definitely worth a visit. The grand gallery in the great pyramid was an experience in of its own, but holy frick they really need to regulate the Giza plateau.
Too many touts and other frickers just lazing about, but ready to knife one another if it means getting a dollar from you. They have no tact and are only concerned about getting money out of you.
