Baby's First Asia Trip

Ahoy sighseelers,

I'm an American who, after spending time in Europe, is considering my first trip to Asia. I'm interested in staying in some of the larger cities, these being my top options from a small amount of research:

>Bangkok
>Kuala Lampur
>Taipei

Please note that I'm only interested in countries with ZERO cov restrictions to avoid the possibility of bureaucracy fucking up my travels. The map attached is up-to-date regarding that. Anyway, I would be going roughly most of March and all April, returning to Europe in May since I'm going to see a concert. Please tell me anything I should know about these places and if they're a good idea for 3-4 week stays, thank you.

    >Oh boy another one!

Yeah OP don't by any means use any of the multiple DN threads in the catalog!

It's not relevant to the discussion, which is why I rephrased it.

all these countries still have some rules about masks. not sure if that will trigger you.

I probably don't care that much, but what kind of rules?

        >asia
        >no covid restrictions

AHaHahaha, all parts of asia still have some Covid BS going on even if the airport map is green.

just that you have to wear it in certain places. Personally I don't care but I've seen some mutt anons here get triggered as fuck about it.

In Indonesia at the moment. An American commented to me, when we walked past some old signs about washing hands and social distancing that it's strange seeing these things in 2023 as though she expected everyone to obliterate any evidence the pandemic ever happened.

People like him are constantly looking for something to be triggered by, whether it is the new Hogwarts game or wearing a mask. They actively look for things to be offended by.

It's ironic because you're the insufferable piece of shit in this case, like

People have called me confrontational because I tell people to look at the business rules saying to wear a mask. Do that shit in your own country, you're a guest there.

obviously is. I didn't say shit about masks, just don't want to have my trip ruined because I forgot some piece of some Asian countries' covid safety puzzle.

So I've heard. Honestly from my time lurking this board the most fun seems to happen in Asia, while Europe is more for history/culture. All the wild/fun stories come from asia.

The countries in SEA are a balance of ease and authenticity. You can get authenticity in any, but the more you challenge yourself the more of an impression you're left with.
But don't dive into the deep end unless you have experience in other third world countries.

Thailand is done with their bullshit for entry and has been for a while, same with Malaysia. Mask use was still pretty common late last year, but if your covid policy is "I only wear a mask if a person tells me to or it's required by law" you probably won't actually need one anywhere.

Is it possible to travel around asia as a tourist with a criminal record? If I just put 'no' on the form asking if I have a criminal history does anyone actually check? What if I travel with a passport from a country where I don't have a record?

Try Vietnam. Basically no covid cases and you don’t have to worry about any restrictions.

Doesnt Indonesia require vax? I just looked that up and skipped Bali.

Maybe this is why, despite the stereotypes, I haven't seen any fuckwits in Bali on this trip.

Or maybe it's a homogenous mixture of insufferable peter pan-syndrome backbackers and drifters such as yourself and you're right at home. I sat next to one on a plane recently and the smell was horrific, thankfully another seat was available.

Incredible projection. The people I've been seeing are giga normies.

Or maybe there's just no point in arguing with an unironic redditor who's probably a spitting image of your average s*yjack, which I would post if I had any saved my my computer.

Taipei is great, one of my favorite cities. However, they are cucked by the virus still even though the borders are open. Hope you bring plenty of masks.
