I'm about to start my final two years of college and was thinking of studying abroad for a semester. I am an Amerimutt who has never left the states before. I want to study abroad not because it benefits my degree but because I want to travel. Any suggestions?
What are your options?
Anywhere in Asia and Europe. My school offers over 50 countries.
How about you list the universities/cities you're interested in?
You say that you're not in for academic reasons but some universities are more fun to study in as an exchange student than others.
Galway, Ireland
UK maybe
Madrid, Spain
Rome, Italy
Seoul, South Korea
Tokyo, Osaka, or Hiroshima, Japan
Thailand
Seoul simply cause of the parties, networking, quality of life, safety. Japan close second.
Really split between Seoul and Germany.
If you don't speak fluently Korean, it will be a waste of time. Most people there barely speak English and those who do are to shy to do it with a foreigner.
Budget is not a problem either, I have a scholarship for studying abroad.
Japan of course. best for cooming, food, and culture tbh
Japan best for cooming? I am decent looking and alright with women in the States. Would it be easy to coom if I barely know the language?
you need to learn the language ahead of time if you want to do that. if you're not down for learning or are remotely christian though you should try the philippines instead; much much easier to get laid if english only.
forgot to add, same with south korea but to a lesser extent than the philippines.
thailand is thailand so you should know what to expect.
Was heavily considering SK due to my friend originally living there. Phillipines sounds really cool never even considered it.
yeah man unless you're super into japanese culture and history i'd advise against it (and i don't mean pop culture either).
the culture shock is more extreme than in SK and the Philippines; the normalfags in my study group who just went for the club scene tended to have a worse time than the people "escaping america" and even the weebs... and they embarrassed themselves more often too.
Alright so I will probably go to South Korea!
Not a problem. Before studying abroad you can take classed through the school so hopefully that would help.

A map of all the available places I could go
want a really unique and exotic experience? study in namibia.
Is it a safe country to visit? I wouldn't mind a little risk but...
safer than other african countries from what i've read, at least. if you've ever been to baltimore (should be two states north of you) then you've probably seen worse.
the state department rates it the lowest advisory level of 1: exercise normal precautions. you might need to get vaccinated for yellow fever, homosexuality is taboo, don't be alone at night outside, and don't do any illegal diamond trade. there's also baboons, lions, leopards, elephants, oryxes, rhinos, hippos, and crocodiles to watch out for... mostly in national parks and shit. less aids than other african countries as well.

Between the collar bones and the knees.
