Cayman islands and Bermuda are top notch. Thailand also has great places, as does Australia obviously.

I've been to those I mentioned yes. Cayman islands has some of the clearest water you can find, on a good day you will get amazing visibility. Thailand is decent for diving around Ko Phi Phi, and because it's Thailand it's more fun than the caribbean islands, with more to do and better food. Australia is less exotic but you really want to see the Great Barrier Reef while it still exists.
definitely gonna go to Australia in one or two years from now, bit far away but im saving up to travel through central asia into east asia and then onto australia and new zealand and the islands in the pacific, got like 10 thousand usd saved up for that
but im not in a position to do that yet so i only got one month i can go now in february or march, ill take a look at the Phi Phi Islands, closer and cheaper than cayman
i like the coasts of florida with their large neritic zones from the ice age. never know what you'll find!
Maaaaan its hard to have so many options hahaha, i can spend a couple of thousand dollars without worrying about going broke, like 5thousand max.
Im paralyzed by the amount of amazing places these are. Im a 26 year old euro, Just need to decide on one and stick to it, but which to begin with....hmmmmm
The best spots tend to be a bit niche but Belize and Sri Lanka were great for diversity of animal life and cost.
Colombia on the Caribbean coast is probably the cheapest place to do you Padi and also great diving. If you want whale sharks then the islands off Honduras as your best bet - again also super cheap
Looks like Sri Lanka is in a state of collapse right now, and i read their reefs have died?
Would you recommend Belize or Colombia for a european? Looks like flight prices are about the same, any specific place you loved?
Bahamas, Mexico and Egypt (Dahab) are world class. If you are poor and in EU Dahab is an absolute no brainer
If you want to see the big boys like whale sharks and manta rays, you want to go to Mozambique

Far less developed than most, fewer tourists, pristine reefs, whale sharks, big ocean pelagics, turtles. Price==super cheap if spending euro/dollars.
Disadvantage: corruption, morons.
