I did mention i was at a music fest coming back to us from balkans. Of course i got pulled for additional screening and they went thru all my shit with a fine tooth comb.

The butthole even called me out for me saying my meds were for x (which they were) because google said they're for y. Like frick off dude I'm just coming home and a script with my name on it isnt you're business.

Funny enough he didn't get into the huge pack of boner pills lol

No shit, you basically admitted to drug use/trafficking drug.

          >they searched me when I said I was going to an EDM music fest in the bakans.
          >I HAVE RIIIIGHTSSS AHHHHH

Boner pills are unscheduled, you do not need a prescription for them, you can literally buy them off script. Schedule 1-4 drugs is what they look for, and even then, only high quanities or true smuggling, 1-2 are the ones with no true medical use/in an airport setting.

Hell even cocaine is okay, it's schedule 2. Slap on the wrist.

Never the mary jane or marijuanans though, that's a schedule 1 and you are a bad guy.

the naivety outs you as an American.

You do know they have litterally no way of knowing you went to a fricking music festival. Just say "tourism". That's all they need to know. If they need more, quote a few tourist spots, that's it.

I go to France every year to visit my family and my only motive is "tourism". I don't bother, they don't bother. The more you feed them the more they want to know more, and they have no right to that.

i went to mexico for a week and when i came back they interrogated me for 2 hours and took my iphone and didnt give it back. apparently homeland security has the legal right to confiscate all your belongings re entering the US. They told me i wont get my phone back unless I give them my code, which I did. Luckily all i had were nudes and a bunch of other shit on there and none of my crypto keys and shit. I still wonder to this day if they made a copy of my phone to blackmail me in the future. you have no privacy rights coming back into the us apparently, they legally cant refuse entry but can confiscate all your shit and leave you penniless with no taxi money if you dont kneel. frick trump

I think there are plenty of anecdotes where your device will be seized for inspection, but will be returned after weeks or possibly months.

You have privacy, but you voluntarily waived it.

The guy basically intimidated me coming from a red eye flight at 4am. He told me if I didn’t comply they would take everything including my wallet, I can leave with just my passport. He then said they would mail everything back to me but it could months, it could take years. I wasn’t going to spend another 3k on a laptop, phone, clothes, etc so I complied. Also didn’t know how to get home with no money, atm card, phone to transfer money…so yea I guess I “voluntary” waived them if you want to look at it that way. Reality is I was pressured and coerced into waiving my rights. They wouldn’t even let me call a lawyer

True, but they do have to return it eventually and you do not have to turn over any passwords - if you're a US citizen. If you're not a US citizen, you may be refused entry.
You should never travel in/out of the country with any electronic device you can't afford to replace or be without. Remove the SIM and, if possible, wipe the phone before disembarking the plane. Use full-disk encryption on your laptop.

I wanna know what prompted this. They barely even acknowledge me when I come back, from both civilized places and drug source countries.

      >I still wonder to this day if they made a copy of my phone to blackmail me in the future
Intelligence services all over the world set up fake cellphone towers to intercept the traffic on your phone before the signal reaches a real cellphone tower.

The sophisticated ones can use the fake tower to upload spyware on your phone in a few seconds without you even realizing it, and thus getting access to everything you have on your phone. Most intelligence services put it up in their national airports, usually targeting phones of non-nationals and/or travelers from hostile countries. If you have ever been in a country that is not on friendly terms with your home country, like China, you can be 100% sure that everything you had on your phone at that time is sitting in one of their databases somewhere

I never bring my laptop out of the country for this reason. They'd clone my device, find the "happy merchant" folder and I'd be arrested in 2030 for hate crimes. Not to mention crypto keys, etc.
