Can I get some recommendations on where to travel?

Can I get some recommendations on where to travel? I am in North America, looking for somewhere relatively cheap and relatively warm, and not particularly interested in South/Central America. Currently considering greece.

If you're going to make a low effort thread without any indication of what you like or what your budget is - then settle for what your'e considering instead of making a thread about it

greek islands are pretty pog, but not exactly cheap, especially in the summer months
greek mainland is cheaper, but less nice.
aside from the warm weather, what are your other requirements?
im assuming you want easy access to a beach, anything else?

We will be going as a group, probably 3-4 guys. I can't speak to everyone's budgets, but it should be "relatively cheap". Sorry I can't say more than that.
I am interested in exploring natural or historical sites. Urban locations too, though to a lesser extent.
I enjoy drinking, but more along the lines of pubs and bars than clubs and dive-bars.
Good food is a given. I have a very diverse palate.
We are looking for something warm/hot, tropical or sub-tropical, ideally with beaches. I am not completely opposed to the Americas but would be more interested in Europe, Asia, or North Africa (though I imagine anywhere in Asia or Africa are outside of budget).
For reference, my favourite destination is Japan. IMO a good blend of natural, historical, and urban locales, with a decent variety of unfamiliar food and drink, plus I am very interested in the culture. Japan is not within budget for the other members though, plus it's currently closed.
Date wise looking for something this coming Fall, Winter, or Spring.
Another country I am considering is Portugal.

Greece is nothing like Japan. Its a dirty, filthy shithole full of Anarchists and junkies. Youd probably like Turkey much better, its also much cheaper.

I don't expect Greece to be anything like Japan culture/people wise. I live in a big city, I am sure it's not on par with Greece but I've seen my fair share of crackheads and degenerates.

in that case you should stick to mainland greece
i can recommend the meteora, delphi, olympia, nafplio, mycynae and sparta
athens itself is kind of a concete jungle, i'd avoid it unless you must see the acropolis and all the other ruins
do also check if crete is within your budget. it will be more expensive, being a popular tourist destination
but the minoan ruins are pretty pog

How's the mainland in November? Looks like our timeframe might be narrowed down to that.

wintery, but still warmer than nothern europe
you can forget about hitting the beaches
but unless you're very unlucky, you will still see plenty of nice days with sunshine
its not at all like britain where your only options are rain or fog.
and prices should be significantly lower, tourist season ends in late aug - early sept

    In Fall or winter:
Cyprus, Canary islands beach / nature; no historical sites

Jordan beach / nature / historical sites; no drinking except in good hotel or few bars, don't be drunk in public
(Keep in mind that in fall and winter days are hot but night very cold)

    In Fall
    Portugal (not cheap ), Croatia

    Winter:

    Uruguay, Argentina

Forget Turkey right now, the prices are very high because of the Russians

One of my friend was in Turkey in June he told me the prices were very high compare to what it used to be.
Last time I was in Turkey was in april 2019, so I thought things have change a lot with covid and the war but I might be wrong..

      >Portugal (not cheap )
its cheap for western europe, and likely has cheapish flights directly to the destination

Thanks for all these options, lots of stuff to check out. At the moment, portugal looks to have the cheapest flights. I'll have to compare the cost of things for once we actually land though.
