Cool places in BUdapest?

I'm going to Budapest soon and I want to see something actually cool. Preferably something I couldn't find about on the internet by myself. Thank you in advance, bros.

There are some cool markets to wander around. The tourists all visit the great market hall (nagypiac csarnok), but I don't find it particularly interesting. I like Lehel piac for the interesting architecture inside and out and Józsefvárosi piac for the atmosphere.

Anything really, but I guess stuff like a weird street, some remnants of history (be it a museum, sculpture or a painting) or even just a nice view. Stuff like what you would show to your friend if he visited the city and was there for a few days. Of course you would show him the galleries and museums but if wants a special experience, you would take him to a good local bakery, a nice spot along the river, a weird grafitti...
If you don't live there and don't know stuff like that but do know things like which gallery or museum is worth the money please feel free to contribute to the thread.

I do live here! Here are some places that could be worth a visit:

        - Széllkapu: nice freshly renovated garden
        - Budai vár: castle district with cute small streets and nice viewpoints on the city
        - Rudas fürdő: my fave bath with a jacuzzi on the rooftop
        - Gellért hegy: hill near the city centre with a nice view and a big ass statue and flag on top
        - Szent István bazilika: tallest point in the city centre (also a beautiful building obviously)
        - Magyar Zene Háza and Néprajzi múzeum: very new really interesting buildings near Hősök tere
        - Tram no. 2: most beautiful tramroute in the world
        - Mélypont: retro pub with a huge selection of whisky rum beer etc. in a nice neighbourhood
        - Vaj: really good bakery, a bit pricey for locals but whatever
        - Retro Élményközpont: nostalgic museum to get a glimpse of old era Budapest
        - Terror Háza: museum of communist crimes (there's also a piece of the Berlin Wall there for example)
        - Pinczi Hús és Hentesüzlet: to try local quick food ask for kolbász + császár + mustár + kenyér + kovászos uborka + Dreher

I will post some more if something pops up! Have fun!

Thanks Mr. gta4gabee but I would probably struggle to even visit most of the places you listed already. You've been a big help. If you ever go to Croatia just post here and I'll try to help. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!

Adding to the top tier suggestions posted above me

Make sure to take the metro (I took it from deak férenc) to the Szechenyi baths, from there you have two art museums (classical and contemporary) near the Heroes square, also in walking distance you'll see Vajdahunyad castle which is also just beautiful.
