Went to hvar which is a super cool island think of it as the poor man Ibiza but just as cool plus cheap and Dubrovnik in June was fun af,

In Dubrovnik I stayed in old city which is nice but more expensive than the island plus game of thrones shit everywhere which kind of ruins the aesthetic of the city imo you don’t need to do more than a couple days in therI reckon though.

hvar was great probably could do 4-5 days there minimum I’m bummed I didn’t scuba dive there cuz the water was clear as hell again it was dirt cheap too girls and boats taking people to even smaller party islands until like 6am

I’d go before they start using the euro in January I think after that prices will probably go up a fair bit

The nice parts are full of western Europeans. I would rather visit one of its non-EU neighbors that also have nice places, and those nice places are not full of western Europeans.

I lived in Dalmatia, near Split for 5 years. It's very pretty but the locals will frequently harsh your vibe. I'd stay away from that region and definitely NEVER EVER FRICKING think of moving there [you have been warned]. I'm not even going to get into how badly that place in inbred and how badly they treat each other. It's okay for a week, but don't expect much. Forget about how pretty it is - that's a trap.

Coast is amazing and plitvice lakes has some of the most beautiful nature I've seen. More expensive than greece/italy.

Going 5 nights to Dubrovnik with friends, 15 days from now. Why is everyone suggesting to stay there for 1 or 2 days max?

Croatian here, you really don't want to stay in Dubrovnik longer than 2 days. It's pretty yes, but it's also fairly small and not that much to do other than mirin old architecture. One day Dubrovnik Old Town, other day visit the pretty peawiener and wild rabbit filled Lokrum island right next to Dubrovnik (5-10 minute ferry ride), maybe take the cable car up for a nice view and that's about it. In fact you can do it all in one day if you get up early enough.
Also I highly recommend to check Dubrovnik cruise ship arrival dates and go to the Old Town when there's no cruise ships, you will have a much better experience.

But yeah 1-2 days in Dubrovnik and then go to literally any other decent seaside city/island in Croatia, Dubrovnik is really pretty much a tourist only city at this point and you'll be bored after day 2 unless you're an architecture history aficionado.

Hope you got your wallet c**t lace was fricking expensive compared the other like minded shitholes in the region.

Nice girls though, easy to get laid there.

There's a really dope cliff diving spot right across from a place called MJ's sea side rooms. The sidewalk that takes you to old town between the little park and the university of dubrovnik has this little cut out for a staircase, take it down, then keep heading down, and down. you'll find it, it's very hidden away but INCREDIBLE. Check out Pile sandwich bar as well, their burgers and smoked pork neck sandwiches were mind blowing, and the only affordable option in the city. Make sure to get some demon gelato as well, best gelato we had from there to split, and we tried em all. You'll know the place when you see it.

Thanks bros, i think we'll stay in Dubrovnik and check the islands around as my friends are more into relaxing holiday shit. If we get bored we'll eat gelato and chase after girls i guess.

Pretty kino, though a tad epxensive.
Split is a beautiful city, but it's full of rich yacht fricks, and isn't really backpacker-tier. There's some decent parties happening in the city though. 2 nights.
Zadar is a bit boring, though pretty. 1 night.
Plitvice lakes were epic. Frick off the 'official routes' and hike your own way round.

Head into Bosnia next. Sarajevo is more bang for buck. I had one of my best hostel experiences ever there. Just seemed like a city which filters people hard.

I went to Dubrovnik a few years ago and it was nice but quite boring. Then again I was supposed to be travelling with a friend who dropped out last minute so hadn't made any real plans. Lokrum was lovely.

Nice place to visit. Don't EVER fricking move there. I lived in Dalmatia for 7 years. Worst mistake I ever made. Inbred psycho hillbillies tortured my animals. I could go on and on but I don't want to get angry.
