I want to do it too.. but i want move to japan or china.. did u have info on passports.. covid-related shits, cheap stores, washing machines, and places where sleep/eat when u r low-on-cash??
I will try to move to cheap tokyo / kyoto or similar districts in the next 2 yrs..
Why the fuck would I be low on cash? Get the fuck out of this thread
Cmon my bro share info on cheap stores and washing machines don't be a secret Santa bro my plan depends on it
I want to visit japan, probably try to work there.. girls r cute, food can be cheap and they have so many fucking vending machine.. XD srsly, is not easy to live as a digital nomad, but is cool..
dont be a digital nomad if you have a cash flow issue. If I see in you begging on the streets as a foreigner, I will dropkick you.
Being this retarded definitely makes it much harder to be a digital nomad.
Japan is not a good country to be a DM. It's expensive, doesn't have friendly business market for foreigners and getting long term visa is difficult. By all means visit briefly but not suitable long term.
lol you wont be able to rent in japan without a visa and guarantor
even if you have those and a proper job etc its still a massive pain in the ass, not to mention shit like "key money", 3 month's rent in advance, bond/security deposit (equal to first 3 month's rent) and so on.
not to mention 90% of rentals in Tokyo will straight up tell foreigners to fuck off.
so yeah, enjoy floating from hostel to hostel for 3 months until your tourist visa expires and you're deported
bruh, outside of Tokyo, you can get a really nice AirBnB for 3 months thats less than the cost of an equivalent apartment in any A tier or even B tier US city. And thats all inclusive, no utilities or internet. The Yen is in the fuckin' toilet right now.
And shit, if you do an actual apples for apples comparison, AirBnB'ing in Tokyo for 3 months is STILL cheaper than renting an apartment in say San Francisco, Manhattan, or even places like Seattle or Denver.
This guy knows his japan.
Incorrect but whatever SighSee is a shithole and nobody should share anything of value with people who come here regularly
Maybe but he’s also a poor fag making less than $100k a year. I could live purely out of overpriced AirBnBs in Japan right now and still have it be cheaper than whatever US city I wanted to live in.
Congrats on the virginity bro
people like you are so fucking retarded it hurts
>digital nomad
>sitting on your computer in different hotel rooms
I won't lie, the idea of working from a laptop is appealing. I just don't understand it. Are you trading stocks, teaching classes, hacking banks, what? And what's the appeal over just working in the country of your choosing?
It's the same reason all these sperg threads pop up.
It's usually some autistic guy who's got no friends, nothing going for them, no family, often an incel looking to go somewhere and try to get laid because st home they can't because it's the fault of

All those digital nomads are are the same above people but they have a source of income. I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who is an adult and can actually walk away from their life and move to the other side of the world, it means they've put down no roots
Honey, if these incels would just empower sex workers and trans women, maybe they wouldn't be virgins! Pic rel. Me.
>I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who is an adult and can actually walk away from their life and move to the other side of the world, it means they've put down no roots
Why feel sorry for someone who isn't tied down by anything? It's not like you'll never see friends and family again. When you're in your 30s and 40s, chances are that many of your friends are married and you barely see them in person anyways. If you own a home, you don't have to sell it just because you're not living in it. If a man is single, healthy, and has the ability to work remotely, why is it bad for them to spend time exploring other parts of the world?
Exploring the world is something you do when you're young and trying to "find yourself" if you're still wandering when your middle-aged something has gone wrong. As I said the only people who fit into this category are people who have failed to meet someone, have children or even put down roots somewhere. It's not about being tied down it's about being part of something, or as a man being responsible for things and or people.
>if you're still wandering when your middle-aged something has gone wrong.
says who
>Exploring the world is something you do when you're young and trying to "find yourself" if you're still wandering when your middle-aged something has gone wrong.
Every decade of life sees the world differently and appreciates it in different ways. If someone is single and not tied down in their 30s, 40s, 50s, whatever, they can travel the world if they want.
It's strange that this makes you seethe, unless all this stuff you're writing is just to convince yourself that you made the right life decisions.
>t. got a roasty pregnant at 20 regrets his life, copes by calling travellers on travel page on a mongolian basket weaving forum losers
“If you aren’t a trust fund kid from New Jersey who’s parents didn’t pay for you to study abroad at 20 you can’t travel at 28 when you have money to.”
These threads generally go to shit the second SighSee shows up or /misc/; hell both are dumb enough in these threads. This is generally because this board and most people completely miss the mark as to what Digital Nomad entails in the day to day.
>what people actually believe
Sit on the beach drinking with 3.14 qt girls around you partying each night after sending an email and using haxx0r level wpm on the keyboard to do all coding in <15 minutes for the month
>what it actually is
1. Booking a decent hotel or airbnb with good internet to take calls at possibly odd hours
2. Lining up free time and PTO to allow you to have a proper weekend for events
3. Spend more of your free time learning tricks to automate your job better
4. Keeping a close eye on your projects and work, making sure no one could tell if you were in or out of the office or "wfh" location
It's rewarding if you can self manage and plan your time and works best in administrative or task oriented positions like IT/programming/etc. If you can't find plenty of spare time in your WFH job today don't bother doing a DN adventure, you'll just piss yourself off and end up burned out within 3 months of it.
This was me exactly and I lost my virginity within two weeks of landing. Didn’t work while I was there, though. White women don’t want black dudes, though, they just think they are too good for dick. Come home, White Man.
But getting laid anywhere that is not America is unironically much easier for the average man. I also find it funny how in burger culture we celebrate women traveling but if a man does it it’s sus lmao.
>And what's the appeal over just working in the country of your choosing?
Are you fucking stupid? You think you can just waltz over to another country and get hired by a local company, just like that?
Even if you could, there's nowhere else in the world with salaries as high as American ones. I make $80k. Back home, I'm a peasant. I can't even afford my own house. In Spain, I live like a king: I can afford to eat out twice a day and get drunk every night. Women are beautiful, the climate is better, the quality of life is far superior.
> Are you trading stocks, teaching classes, hacking banks, what?
Working my IT job usually, just on a different timezone or timeframe depending where I am
European timezone? Cool I get to be out from 8am-5pm doing all the shit I want during the day
Japan/Asia timezones? Cool I get to be out from 5am->2PM or 12PM->9-10PM
>And what's the appeal over just working in the country of your choosing?
It's a country I wanted to go visit anyways, so why not just work there for a while and take the time I need there over the course of a few weeks or months if I want.
Bingo. You basically save on PTO and get to travel when you're off work. I just came back from three weeks in Vietnam while doing my digital nomad thing. Work basically overnight since I'm based in EST, then sleep for about six hours, then explore until the evening when it's time to start over again. Took PTO that final week to do my due diligence around town and left pretty satisfied.

First off, my six figure US engineering salary allows me to live like royalty in the majority of places.
Second, I can follow the good weather and different holidays. Cherry blossom festival, running of the bulls, carnival, etc.
Third, I like the change of scenery every few months. I like the minimalist lifestyle of living out of a few duffle bags. A mortgage and a house full of trinkets feels burdensome more than anything.
Example: the city my company is based out of, a 1 Br in a decent area is $1800 a month. Not including utilities and other things. Eating out is $15 per meal for non fast food.
MEANWHILE, I can go live in Barcelona at an AirBnB nicer than anything I’d get at home for ~$1100 a month with all utilities included and get a meal for $6. I stay for more than a month and I break even when you take the plane ticket into account. 2+ months and I’m actually saving money and have a higher quality of life.
>inb4 hurr just move to some shit hole flyover state

And then you get robbed
>And then you get robbed
Don't believe the shit you read about Barcelona on SighSee, it's safer than literally any US city of a similar size
The real urban shitholes in Europe are in France and the UK
>A mortgage and a house full of trinkets feels burdensome more than anything.
I felt the same way at first but then I wisened up to the idea of renting it out. Honestly really nice having some side income on top of my remote job.
I get that, I’d rather just chuck extra dough into an index fund and not think about it.
For me, its because I dont like travelling in the tourism sense, rushing from place to place, city to city. I like to get a feel of a city what its like to live there. So yeah I go to the business centre for 8 hours a weekday. But after that I get to explore the nooks and crannies of tokyo, bangkok, mexico city etc that I wouldnt have time for as a regular tourist.
Plus I earn a good money as an Australian, so when I live in these cheaper countries, I get to save more money and experience more then I would living just in Australia.
Prime example of the nonsense I'm talking about
>Can't get laid
>Reeee it's everyone else's fault not my own
You do realise there are sex workers closer than SEA right? You do also realise once your money runs out in SEA you will be chased out by the ladyboys you're fantasising over?
I can't wait to see the cringe threads on here in 5 years time
>"Eastern women are all gutter trash, they can't be trusted, she said she was going to be my tradwife but now I'm out of neetbux she's moved in with chud. Where are there women who can be trusted? Unironically what are Somali women like"?

So, are they good?
Any advice for the best countries to go to for been a DN in Europe? Hate beach's and humid environments. Want somewhere low crime, like to be able to feel safe in where im living.
Im currently earning 5000 AUD, or 3500 USD a month as a programmer and online teacher. Could easily move my work to another country. Where should I go?
Baltics
>$3500 USD working as a programmer
Why
Why what
are you teaching programming? how much you charge? what language you teach? what platform? I want to learn.
Yes I teach maths and programming. I charge 80 usd an hour. I teach java, Python mainly. And a lot of sub technologies like docker, aws and NOSQL.
>80 usd an hour
Ok never mind.
Yeah its a lot, cause its my side hustle I just cater to rich high school and university kids with rich parents.
How do you find place to live in foreign countries? If I was hopping around I would use hotels/airbnbs. But I plan to live in one place for months at a time. Airbnb seems super pricy for this kind of living. What are my options for medium term rentals?
FB groups are your friends. Look for month to month rentals, shared accommodations, holiday homes - whatever your time limit and budget.
Ive had a look, and it seems like its jacked up price wise for foreigners? Like for czech, small apartments are like 1200 usd a month which is way higher then what rent stats for the area
Had the same problem in Colombia. The cheap apartments were trash. The expensive ones were too, but were centrally located.
I hate any kind of chain, experience as much as you can.
I don't want any woman, they want only my money anyway, just make kids and go on your way. Real men acted like this for thousand of years if they weren't slaves.
Are you a slave?
>>am my own boss but am overlooked by a higher up
you're not your own boss then
Why is everyone so fuckin' salty about me being a digital nomad?
Because you aren’t betabuxxing some Tinder thot and buying boomers’ bags.
they have in-person jobs, wives, or mortgages
I know you guys are all poor NEETs or minimum wage code monkeys but has anyone done the Standby Membership with Landing? $1300 all in sounds really fucking tempting. even if jump cities twice a month, its still cheaper and better than an AirBnB or short term rental when i factor in the plane tickets. they have horrible fucking reviews though, but i feel like thats from a bunch of retards who didn't know what they were getting into.
i don't have experience with it, but how could this be appealing as the buyer? if the service is a flat rate of $1300 a month, no one is going to put their $2000 a month condo on there, and it will be full of $500 condos. why not just pay market rate for airbnb/local rental?
you're on "Standby" which means if someone wants to rent the place at the market rate, they'll give you 3 days notice and move you to another vacant unit. basically it somewhat negates the opportunity cost of having a vacant unit. upside for me is that i can potentially be staying in a place that would normally be way out of my price range with the downside of having to be pretty agile. I'm a one-bag guy so for that price tag i'd be willing to move every week or so if it came down to that.
for reference, i haven't found a single condo on Landing thats less than $2k a month. most of the places that are listed as available for standby are $3k+.
BUT they're customer service line is staffed by complete retards which gives me serious pause, i've called them 6 different times for details because the first two times i got conflicting information about the terms and conditions, the guys on the other end of the phone don't sound like they know their own companies policies so ehhhhh. you can cancel the membership after 30 days for a prorated refund so idk, thought maybe there was an off chance one of you fuckers might have tried it already.
