Do any fellow?

Do any fellow SighSeellers have an interest in travel SighSeehotography? I enjoy taking photos with my mobile on my travels but I'm considering buying a proper camera to take better quality shots. Appreciate any advice on the matter generally, but really I'd just love some inspiration from any of your own photos.

I love photography, but I hate standing out more. I get crippling anxiety when I try to take photos and people just stare at me, I rarely take even mobile pictures now because of it

I've lost interest in photography circa 2015 when every photo has already been taken literally thousands of times with cellphones.
And fast forwards in 2023 you can literally type "make up a photo of Eiffel tower with me in it" and a photo will magically appear.

But even before that I tried not to take my camera with me because I would focus too much on recording what I was seeing instead of actually seeing it.

Get a smaller Canon Rebel. The T7 is barely noticeable very inconspicuous. Amazon has them for 399 with a zoom lens. They take vastly better pics than your phone. You do have to put in a couple days to learn the camera.

If you want to shoot 4k video, you have to spend a bit more and get the T8i or the SL3.

Get a vlog dedicated camera. Not for vloging (disgusting) but being capable of recording videos properly.

Carrying around a camera is an extra hassle unless you are really pro-level there's no reason to carry around a camera for marginally better pictures than what a decent smart phone will do.

    If anything, take a drone.

But the reality is that there is footage everywhere and pictures of everything all at everybody's fingertips, so all you really need is your phone for your own personal snapshots.

A phone camera is fine, but they have limitations, notably in sensor size and ability to zoom. If you don;t feel like you need any of that, then fine, your phone is all you need and I have no quarrel with that.
Me, I like to be able to zoom in on stuff that I might otherwise not have even seen, so phone cameras aren't enough for me. But to each their own.
