Düsseldorf is great. Visit Köln if you have time, but only for a few hours so you can see the great church. I was pretty shocked how poor and trashy that city looked compared to Düsseldorf. Make sure to ask for the menu when you're drinking at small pubs there so you know the prices, though. I got scammed there.
