For example, getting an education visa in Thailand was super easy and no questions asked. Now they are checking if you are actually attending classes. philippines has the easiest/cheapest visa to extend. Show up as tourist, after one month extend at immigration office for two months. can repeat for 3 years. If you stay more than 6 months you'll need an exit clearance which can fuck you if forget something they need to check (you wont leave the country if you don't have it. it's 3rd world they dont care you wont leave I almost missed a flight to seoul because of it). Thai elite is pretty easy if you have around 18k usd and good for 5 years. stil lhave to report every 3 months to immigration. Cambodia and bali used to be a joke with business visas and tourist agencys not sure how they are now.
btw where can i search for a place to stay in those countries for a few months, airbnb doesnt look reliable
most places are found on the street or facebook. Pay a trike to take you around a neighborhood you like and tell him you want to see places for rent. there will be signs out for places to rent. Also ask on facebook groups. I wouldnt stay in manila personally and you woudn't do the trike method there would have to look on facebook/airbnb.
