I'm tired of the rat race. I've realized that my life here in this city of mine is one that is inevitably going to be a downward spiral. It's unaffordable, boring, and soulless. I have no friends and no social life. Due to various foolish decisions in my past related mostly to drugs and alcohol, I only have about $20k to my name. I live at home, 30, single, full-time job.
Previously I have lived/worked in Shanghai and fell in love with the big, sprawling, hectic, sometimes frustrating, city life. Although returning as an expat to China is a possibility, I don't believe it will be something that can happen in the near future for obvious reasons. SEA and the Philippines specifically also appeals to me on multiple levels as I recently returned from a vacation from around there. Looking very broadly at prices it seems an acceptable furnished studio would cost $500-700 a month.
I have the meme TEFL/CELTA certifications as well as a BA. Turns out being an ESL teacher is something that I thought I could do, but can't. What do you expats out there do for money and what is the state of your Visa situation? Is this even possible? Am I a completely unhinged lunatic thinking of these things? Can you make money passively online somehow through stonks or whatever the fuck and just retire there forever?
Get a skill that demands a lot of money. There's lots of anons here who code, some who copywrite, some who do all kinds of shit. It's not hard. Ad agencies charge $3,000 per month, plus a percentage of sales generally for example.
>Previously I have lived/worked in Shanghai
How many chinese women have you creampied?
If you're good with english and want to the fastest skill, learn copywriting. You can learn copywriting in 4 weeks (self taught) and get a job within 2 months. Read the books, do a few projects for free and then you can start free lancing or apply for ad agencies. Copywriting is easy that poojeets can do it (but they don't because they can't grasp nuanced and western pop references ...)
I'm happy to answer more of your questions. HOW MANY CHINESE WOMEN U CREAMPIED
where does one get a remote copywriting job easily in 2 months?
Unironically copywriting facebook groups. There's always agencies looking to hire remote copywriters. Beware that agencies will work you to the bone ought.
I've creampied zero Chinese women but have dated and banged more than a few. I'm not sure why it's so relevant. Thanks, I will look into copywriting.
Rural Canada is not interesting to me at all. I'm a city slicker at heart, I can't stand the peacefulness of the quiet outdoors.
I can TEFL part-time as a supplementary gig. The problem wasn't the actual teaching, it was the full-time hours. Being "on" for students for 8 blocks of lessons all day is just exhausting.
I think you are right about settling down but I can't get any dates. I'm Chinese Canadian so that doesn't help. I get maybe 3 matches a month over here and it's not even like I'm ugly or autistic. We're not bordering on irrelevant /adv/ tier topics.
What job did you do in Latam?
I can deal with being worked to the bone occasionally. Copywriting by its very nature seems seasonal/temp but if we're talking pay and ethics, is it real and on-time?
What about landing a seasonal job back home and just spending the rest of the year? I always have my family home to come back to, which I suppose is the blessing here.
>Copywriting by its very nature seems seasonal/temp but if we're talking pay and ethics, is it real and on-time?
Incorrect. With global-homo, companies all over the world demand good english copywriters. You can write sales copy like email copy, amazon ad descriptions, blog posts, etc.
Explain what it is that you do for a copywriting job and how much approximately it pays. Could one survive frugally abroad doing solely that? Is working until I'm a fat boomer the only way? And what if I can't get a pension. Fuck this life dude.
>Explain what it is that you do for a copywriting job and how much approximately it pays.
For a junior english copywriter, you can make $3K USD a month full time working for an agency. But they will work you to the bones. Expect to do 4-5 hours of writing every day, more if its holiday seasons
I do data entry all day anyways so I'm used to typing for extended periods of times. But it's brainless.
Do you happen to know specifically what type of writing? Manuals? Brochures? Advertisements? What's the length of the text required?
>Do you happen to know specifically what type of writing? Manuals? Brochures? Advertisements? What's the length of the text required?
Expect to write about 1000 - 3000 words every day, depending on what you're writing. Pick up 1 or 2 copywriting book and you can get good.
Here's a free video course:
>How many chinese women have you creampied?
>Illiterate plebbitard is also a coombrain
Shocking.
It's a bit out of left field but have you considered rural living in your home country? I live under pic related. It's lonely but the city was lonely for me too so maybe there's no hope there. But I've escaped globohomo at least.
not OP but in the same situation
Seeing and exploring around amazing nature is grand and all but being all but totally isolated from other people kills the appeal, for me. I'm tryin to be able to socialize
i am in the same boat, looking at these details you posted I am actually close to 100% the same
Only difference is that I've not been to Asia, I traveled and worked in Latin America for a couple of years and wanted to expatriate to São Paulo pre-pandemic bullshit.
>drugs and alcohol
>30
>wants to escape the rat race yet doesn't want to TEFL it out
You're not going to like what I have to day, but expatriation won't help for shit, you know that. What you need is to settle down mate.
Now it doesn't matter where so feel free to move out, but you won't find solace as long as you don't find someone to be with for a while. You need responsibilities and some accountability that will prevent you from falling down the drain.
Even if you manage to find a job there you'll still have the same fucking problems because once the thin veneer of novelty peels out you'll be left with the same boring and predictable routine.
Alternatively, what are some careers that involve travel? Like a flight attendant or something.
>Alternatively, what are some careers that involve travel? Like a flight attendant or something.
A remote skill like software engineering
I'm not necessarily recommending SWE, but a truly remote biz/skill will allow you to travel with typically more flexibility and money than being a flight attendant or working a cruise ship. That travel is all set by the employer; I just pick a spot and go
High end finance travels quite a bit, but you want to go to a target school for that.
Also look into:
* travel nursing: probably going to be all domestic (int'l volunterring possible; DYOR on paid stuff), but you get to pick your contracts, which gives it more flexibility than our next career.
* consulting: could just be you ferrying back and forth from a random client in an office park. From what I can tell, zero control at the entry level. i.e. not sure you're going to get the youth travel you want here and it may just be a timesink, but idk for sure
would you gays stop posting swe and coding. no one that is fucking 28yo+ is going to fucking learn that shit if they havent already
copywriting i heard is not a meme. fast to learn. online business works but you need to be willing to lose money too
there is literally no reason that something you could learn at 18 is impossible to learn at 28. what you are saying is "I'm too lazy to put in the effort to learn that, therefore it is impossible"
I realize you feel like your life is passing you by, but the longer you wait to do something about that, the less time you will have to be happy. putting in the time to learn swe or coding would alleviate that problem. just stop being lazy and stupid, and work for what you want to achieve.
not that anon but how did you do it? any advice for a lazy moron such as myself
while I think someone can switch into SWE at these ages (the oldest I've personally seen is restaurants to SWE @ age 28 via a bootcamp), it would be nice to see literally any other career discussed
SWE sucks...
you’re a fuck up and loser.
nothing will fix you but rope.
>I'm tired of the rat race.
Stop living in giant cities, dumbass. I have found cities with 100,000k or less people are ideal for living a slower, happier life. I also strongly believe people are happier in low denisty areas, which is why I also took the semi-rural pill. Currently live in the countryside right outside a town of 8000, which is about 20min away from the biggest city in the area which has around 70,000 people. Could not be happier with my life and the people I know.
>I have no friends and no social life.
Think back on your life and re-connect with the good people you knew long ago.
>Due to various foolish decisions in my past related mostly to drugs and alcohol
My same story friend. Sadly everywhere on the planet has drugs and alcohol, but escaping the big cities makes it a hell of a lot harder and more expensive to find and use drugs, you will still have to maintain self control with alcohol though.

That might've been true in medieval Europe. The cities are where the bright minds are, there is nothing but uncultured, boring people in rural areas.
i cope by telling myself i can work at this job and retire in 10 years as a sacrifice for unlimited cooming post 40 years old but 40 years old is 10 years away and i dunno if i can handle this shit for that long
I wish I could personally strangle all of you who go on about coding and software engineering.
Like, the audacity to say ‘why don’t you just get a high paying, high skilled job?’ As if you’re onto something and nobody else has even considered the idea.
Guess what, it’s actually very difficult to get a decent in software engineering even as a graduate. Most ‘programmers’ do tedious mind numbing JavaScript for 30k a year.
As a 28 year old with no CV, degree or portfolio? Just shut the fuck up, please. Can we at least be realistic here
>As a 28 year old with no CV, degree or portfolio? Just shut the fuck up, please. Can we at least be realistic here
People find jobs with those 12 week coding bootcamp as a front end monkey. $30K is nothing to scoff at if you're living in the 3rd world. Don't gate keep javascript, it's not that hard you gay.
damn my bro SNAPPED on all these oblivious codegays. yea, here that gays? its not just a fucking walk in the park if you don't already have a high IQ.
at the same time though, these copywrite cucks are as pie-in-the-sky. Imagine thinking this is MadMen and you can just cobble together a portfolio of............
copywrite material? the fuck?
i know this pain though. I ree and scream internally everyday because i can't live my dream life without a wfh job. im gonna make a legitimite and unrestrained attempt to get one about a year from now when i have enough savings to take the chance, but until then, im gonna be haranging and attacking anyone who has the wrong tone here and literally everywhere on sighsee. its cathartic and its how i can deal with my prison without bars for now
the high effort posters who wrote good guides are exempt from this harassment.
OP, don't listen to this loser who doesn't even try. Even poojeets are freelancing online with coding and copywriter.
>im gonna make a legitimite and unrestrained attempt to get one about a year from now when i have enough savings to take the chance
Can you elaborate on this?
so i work in a warehouse and make about 3200 after taxes a month. thats just full-time hours btw. this job can force you to work 4 hours of overtime after 60 days of employment which is 15 days from now, so although suffering is inevitable, there's gonna be a lot of 1.5x pay.
I periodically see plebian tier remote jobs like data entry etc on indeed. ive saved two high effort posters on biz and here that gave good details about what to put on your resume to get these kind of jobs even if you've never had them. that being said, im a pretty good at creatively fabricating resumes and then rehearsing false events and situations from jobs (the STAR interview questions they usually ask).
when i have enough savings to comfortably leave the US (~30k), ill start applying for these jobs. if i get one, ill gauge whether i can actually do it while still in the US. if it works out, ill figure out how to do all the VOIP, VPN, software/hardware bs to mask your location and leave. Simple as.
u can do it TTT creampie anon i believe in u
>I'm tired of the rat race.
bro just quit your job and live as a neet. you don't think eastern countries have a more ruthless work culture amongst living in cramped conditions?
I'm on NEETbux. I AM allowed to leave the USA and keep getting it and I AM also allowed to work, so long as I earn less than $1,350 per month.
If I go the TEFL route, would I be able to work 20 hours per week or less, making $1K per month, and perhaps even have room and board provided by the employer?
Whats the easiest way to get neetbux I'm the US?
>Whats the easiest way to get neetbux I'm the US?
Have End Stage Renal Disease or a disability on the following list: https://www.disability-benefits-help.org/compassionate-allowances
You will get automatically approved.
I go to Asia for 2-3 months in the Winter with some savings and then scrape a living doing design spec jobs on Upwork. Make a couple hundred from pod t-shirts too. Codemonkeying is a meme and if you aren't at least semi-autistic, you'll never see it through. Copywriting is another big cope and as soulless and tedious a job you could ever wish to do.
Have you ever tried redpilling guys on how easy they could have it in Asia? My friends have almost all settled down with 3/10 white hogs, some of these hoes are even balding. They say 'well anon, I don't have to travel for sex like you, lol". One of my friends is in Vietnam with a cute girl but even then he's tying himself down with a girl who'd had previous foriegner bfs and is already in her late 20's.
>One of my friends is in Vietnam with a cute girl but even then he's tying himself down with a girl who'd had previous foriegner bfs and is already in her late 20's.
Yeah she had tons of big white cocks widening her pussy. Why are whit*oids like roastie, no matter which part of the world they're in
What about cybersecurity- like White Hat/Ethical hacking jobs? Like red team/blue team penetration testing for companies, websites, software, etc? Is this able to be done remotely? Through freelance gigs, both short and long contracts? Good pay? Can you land one of these jobs remotely after a bootcamp session and/or after obtaining proper certifications?
Seems slightly more interesting than just dully coding shit for the sake coding (though I realize coding is still somewhat involved in cybersecurity) and I imagine has to be in good demand. Any thoughts?
