Delusional stormtard. Kraków was indeed briefly majority German for a short while, before it was cleansed of the German colonists, who had been brought there to repopulate the area after the wars with the Tatars which had left the country depopulated.
They behaved like israelites and were promptly killed or expelled once they started acting uppity and disrespecting the locals.

Same happened in Poznań centuries later (around 1920) btw, were the German colonialists claimed the city for themselves and were expelled quickly or just fricked off of their own free will. Imagine being a Germ living in a foreign city, were the medieval townhall was built by Poles, the townsquare was built by Poles, the biggest factory in the city, owned by H. Cegielski, was owned by a Pole, and the majority of the population was still Polish, despite German attempts to change the ethnic make up of the city and its region; and to STILL call for the Führer to annex it and genocide the indigenous population. Frick stormtards and frick irredentism. Germs are alright as a people but this claiming of history Slavic cities as their own should be met with a prompt punch to their brittle cheekbones.

Regensburg is pretty comfy. Tons of medieval buildings like the old city hall where the perpetual Reichstag of the HRR was held for over 100 years and the Steinbrücke.
Combine that with tons of good Bavarian breweries and restaurants and it's a great stay.

Dresden in fall. Very pretty city and architecture, OKish nightlife, Sächsische Schweiz and Elbe are super pretty in fall and you can drink fresh wine in the castles there. Also relatively cheap because its east germany. The normal people you meet in daytime are a bit stuck up sometimes but great otherwise.

Frankfurt has its moments in terms of architecture, but the amount of nonwhites may give you USA vibes. Not trying to start a /misc/ tier debate, but it’s REALLY startling these.

The best large ones are Munich and Hamburg. There’s so many cute/nice smaller ones they would be impossible to list. Germany also has a hefty chunk of ugly cities because it’s been bombed in WW2.

  12. 2 years ago

How much of a loser am I for wanting to go to Oktoberfest as an American? What are other things in the general area or on the way to Paris that would be fun? I've been to Frankfurt but my general impression was just a business city like Chicago, but one where I have limited language ability.

      Anonymous

You're not a loser at all - but whatever you fricking do, do NOT go to Munich for it. Do research about where to go. Regensburg maybe, or Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart. Or find a small town; that's where the soul is.

You're spot on about Frankfurt. Unfortunately besides Stuttgart and maybe Freiburg in the Black Forest there's not a lot in the part of Germany near France that's worth seeing. The Ruhrgebiet (Cologne, Düsseldorf, etc.) is one of the worst places in Europe. I recommend either Strasbourg, or Trier, Luxembourg, Ghent, and Bruges so you go in from the north. Luxembourg rocks and Bruges is Amsterdam but without 98% of the shitty tourists; gorgeous

I just got back from a trip to Germany and went to Nuremburg. The RLD runs along the South Wall (just south of Weißer Turn underground station) of the old town for two streets, maybe 30-50 windows. It was roughly 75% occupied by 7pm and barely any dudes walking around if you're shy about approaching a girl.
The actual quality of the women is a bit varied but there was enough good looking girls and I did spot one absolute 10/10.

IDK if you are still here but I am flying into Frankfurt this December and I will be staying in Germany for 30 days, mostly with the goal of studying the language.

I am trying to decide, what city to go to from there to stay and study in. Talked to a giggachad on Omegle from Germany who was born in Frankfurt but moved to Stuttgart.

One thing I have heard about most Germans is they are rude, public shame, cut in lines, and are direspectful to elders. He mentioned that was true but not in Swabian culture (Stuttgart). He said it was the kindest and most welcoming city in Germany.

Is this true, or do these cultural problems exist everywhere with Germans just being rude pigs? (Cutting in line, public shaming, insulting others out loud).

        Anonymous

There's no "never been an incident of rudeness" nor "always buttholes everywhere" city.
Though places like Hamburg, Duisburg/Ruhrgebiet(only the ones decent at soccer) are indeed more rough/thuggish but that's just what decades of coal mining and sport degenerates do to people.
Most parts of germany speak turkish, arab and russian, not an ideal place to learn the language. And around the Heidelberg/Kaiserslautern cluster near Stuttgart, it's even english due to the mass mutt tourism/military presence.

Go to Austria. The cities (Vienna, Salzburg especially) are more beautiful and the people are nicer.
