we're planning out a car trip to Finland
>from eastern poland
>thru baltic countries
>going by a ferry and landing in Helsinki
>then going to Tampere, maybe Jyvaskalla
>sleeping in a car tent
we're mostly in it for the forests and nature, meeting anons there and then food and the local culture
would you guys recommend:
>maybe other cities than turku, jyvaskalla if we want to trek in the national parks?
>places to see, experience, go for in these cities
>stuff to do in the country in general
>and also things to see along the way in the baltic countries
For Latvia i can recommend making a detour via Sigulda/Turaida to visit Gauja National Park.
What are those countries like, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia?
Flat, boggy, full of shitty old khruschyovkas. Autistic people, but some of the hottest women imo.
i can recommend Zarasai in Lithuania, nice little town, and surrounded by lakes/forests as well as a massive lake right next to it
>>food and local culture
to see, experience, go for in these cities
to do in the country in general
>Finland
Are you actually retarded?
no
Here's a list of interesting things to experience and see in Finland
>
i'm so sorry you hate your own country
thanks, these are nice reccomendations!
What dates are you looking at?
Given your route, you could take a turn at Bauska and go check out Rundale palace. It's about a 15 minute detour off the main road. There is an entrance fee though.
In Riga you could have a drink at Ala Folkklub, it's usually pretty popular with visitors
There's also "My Beer" which opened recently, they have a big beer selection. But you aren't short of bars and places to go in Riga
Those are in the old town, so kinda more touristy, if you want to meet more locals maybe check out Tallinas Kvartals
Unfortunately I can't link this stuff because sighsee thinks I'm spamming
As a previous poster mentioned, Sigulda is quite good to check out, and if you are coming in Autumn you might see it when the colors of the leaves change, it's very pretty but also gets kinda crowded on the weekends because people are trying to get their instagram selfie.
Cēsis is also good to check out it has a castle, old town etc
Maybe go past Jurmala when you're near riga, they have a beach there.
If you want to check out commie shit, maybe go by Līgatne bunker https://www.latvia.travel/en/sight/once-top-secret-soviet-bunker-rural-ligatne
I'm going travelling in a couple of weeks but if you're coming before then maybe we can meet up, I'm in Riga
Another Latvia anon here.
There are many beautiful lakes in Latvia, a simple google search will get you a top 5.
Just east of Riga near Gauja train station there's a pretty cool beach which you could say is seasonally occupied with tent-loving crowd, hippies, dudeweeds and trance music enjoyers, they call it Shamanistan. This is right along your route.
Another place on your route is Salacgriva, they used to throw a summer festival there before moving it to Riga. Cool seaside place, not a lot of attractions but it's pretty tranquil.
Check out the Riga Dam, but don't try to swim in the reservoir please.
Search insta/google for "urbex Latvia" to see some Soviet ruins, we have a TON of them, probably one of the most exciting things about the region apart from the nature.
Not only you can barely breath in Ala during peak hours, it's conveniently located right next to the shittiest club in Riga. Don't know why people keep going there.
Finn anon here
If you have a chance, make sure to visit the old capital Turku. 2 hour drive from Tampere. Castles and old buildings galore.
if you come to helsinki finland i will rob you bitch (in gta ofcourse)
nice, where in helsinki are you?
also can you recommend some cheap sauna out there
hot women? okay we might stay there for longer
is it really this good? we were thinking of not going to the west because the climate there is similiar like in helsinki, and because having many detours suck as gas prices are expensive
ill have my youngers posted up on jätkäsaari and katajanokka looking for polish plates (again in gta)
Sompasauna is free. Go to eastern finland, theres fuck-all to see in central finland or tampere. In eastern finland theres lots of beautiful nature and a change of scenery compared to places you are already visiting.
T: another finn who will be robbing you the moment you step your feet in Helsinki
Yeah, they're mostly ice queens though. If you buy girls drinks they'll bang ya though, just don't be a cheap pollack and youll be fine
