first time Asia

What are your recommendations in SEA for a asocial online Math student to live cheaply and not feel guilty for being a permanent tourist? I'm taking my first trip to non-Turk Asia next week (Da Nang for a month) and I'd like to stay in SEA until next year. I don't care about anything social (friends or cooming) or alcohol/drug prices, just want cheap food and accomodations. Also, I don't care about beaches either, other than seafood.

I know this sounds like a sad trip but I honestly love just trying to fit in as a local. I guess I'm an adventurous autist.

Sounds like you will enjoy Vietnam, its better suited to autists like us than it is for coomers. Living cheaply there depends on comfort level, you can find dirt cheap unfurnished apartments, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you are used to living spartan. Rent a cheap furnished apartment for like 200-300 a month and eat at the local places. Seafood is usually very fresh in VN and safe. They used to have these sidewalk seafood BBQs that were cheap and delicious. I'm thinking of doing the same in Da Nang next year. Also you should rent a motorbike for more freedom and less hassle dealing with moto drivers that don't speak English. Traffic can be crazy there but Da Nang is supposed to be one of the better cities for driving.

Awesome. I'll definitely be renting a bike a few days a week.

The problem is that I can only stay for 30 days and then have to frick off for an indefinite amount of time. Will this change in the future? It was 90 days before, right? Anybody know how long I need to leave Vietnam to apply for a new Evisa? Burger btw.

ph is the only country with a lax visa
        Cebu is cheaper than manila

Or go to angeles city and meet all the dysfunctional expats and dysgenic hookers. But honestly the korea town in angeles is pretty nice for how cheap it is

Is Cebu nice if I'm not interested in cooming? I guess I'm just looking for a place for a month's downtime from Vietnam. Ankor Wat->Vientiane->Luang Prapang?

Da Nang is great and Hoi Ann (in your pic related) next door is fantastic, especially at night time when all the lanterns come on. I spent a whole month Da Nang and loved it, cant wait to go back.

You can probably extend your 30 day visa in the country up to 90 days once you get there.

Oh and get the app Grab. Its like their version of Uber and Uber Eats. Its actually better and it will even tell you the exact price and route of the trip before you book your ride, not an estimate either, literally the exact price. On the food delivery side of the app you can order literally EVERYTHING, from restaurants, to random street food vendors, to very specific items in any convenience store in the area, all even in one large order if you want, and it will be delivered straight to your door for dirt cheap. Blows shitty Uber Eats out of the water.

Anyone get cosmetic surgery done in SEA?

I have a mole and an epidermal cyst I want removed. In Canada mole removal is $350-$900 CAD. It's gotta be cheaper in SEA, right

Then why bring it up if it's not cosmetic? Did you have some insight on getting cosmetic surgery in SEA, or are you just here to take the piss?

Unfortunately nearly all health plans and programs do so you have to pay for that stuff out of pocket.

I paid about $300 to have a mole burned off my ass. It was worth it because I look aesthetic having sex now but the boomer doctor didn't get why I cared so much.

then I'll feel guilty and I also have lots of school work to focus on. I think motorbike daytrips will be plenty and I can just switch city every month. that's plenty satisfying

It's cheaper here and less identity politics. Sure, I could get a job in the US and be able to afford rent but I wanna relax my mind cuz my degree is hard. Gave my taxi driver $7.50 instead of $6 and he was so grateful and booked a $10 massage tomorrow. It's a different world out here.

Also they didn't even check my EVISA. Just asked for passport and really needed me to find my flight # for some reason. I guess they'll check it on the way out so they can collect overstay fines.
