What are the best countries to make friends? Please don't confuse politeness with friendliness. For me:
A: All of Latin America, most of Africa
B: America, Vietnam, China, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria
C: Russia, Thailand, Japan
D: most of Western Europe, HK
E: South Korea, Canada
Add most of the non-Russian russosphere to tier B because most of them don't get much tourists and most of them are Russians or people who can't speak Russian.
They're only being friendly because they want money
Any time people say this shit about people in Turkey, Morocco, India, etc, you know it’s because they only traveled to tourist traps and didn’t bother interacting with anyone who wasn’t an obvious tout
>Any time people say this shit about people in Turkey, Morocco, India, etc, you know it’s because they only traveled to tourist traps and didn’t bother interacting with anyone who wasn’t an obvious tout
Turk here, dad is a taxi driver at the istanbul airport. its true. turks actually hate foreigners and blame them for alot of shit going on here and are friendly because we want the money. I bet you are a westerner saying this shit
You're a gay, I spent a week in Rabat which is far from the tourist trap places like Fes and Chef, to the point where only one guy was abrasively asking for money. Still, no one in that city was friendly besides the curley haired big tiddied fit Moroccan girl I smashed.
Cambodia is S tier. Nicest people in the world.
This. A Cambodian femboy once ate my ass
They're pretty mean to monkeys though. Fuck em.
Yes the country where everyone spends all day driving by themselves, shopping for everything online at Amazon and binge watching Netflix in their free time is such a great place for making friends.
not like anybody ever wanted to be spoken to on public transit anyway bub
>shopping for everything online at Amazon
Hey that reminds me, I wanted to see if Chili Vinegar was a thing, later fags.
Agree with a lot of these but so many of these feel way, way off.
Russia on par with Thailand? Thai people are insanely friendly, I mean genuinely very open and nice people in my experience and often in good spirits.
I’ve heard Russia on the other hand, in the big cities at least like Moscow and SpB, people are notoriously assholes and unfriendly. Didn’t Moscow rank as the worlds most unfriendly city for years in a row?
Secondly, most of Western Europe as unfriendly? Go to rural Ireland, rural England or anywhere up north in the UK, like Liverpool or Manchester. Everyone is stupidly outgoing and easy to make friends with.
Also, Africa. My experience with Africans is that of aloofness and coldness in my experience when you’re in their countries, almost like they don’t want you there. Just my thoughts
>I’ve heard Russia on the other hand, in the big cities at least like Moscow and SpB, people are notoriously assholes and unfriendly. Didn’t Moscow rank as the worlds most unfriendly city for years in a row?
Would you rate all Americans by just looking at their NYC representatives?
I’m only 20 so I haven’t travelled a lot yet. In order of friendliest to least friendly
Honestly though how friendly people are is typically a reflection of how annoying you are regardless of where you are.
>Canada friendlier than Mexico
The workers can be snobby assholes who don't understand customer service. This has changed with millennials and zoomers but any gen xer or above in Russia will be a snobby asshole. Excluding customer service though the average person on the street in Russia is EXTREMELY friendly and chivalrous. Random people will help you with your luggage, invite you to drink/party or strike up a conversation in the street (usually bumming for cigarettes), etc. I find the Muslims/Central Asians much more friendly than the local Russians though. These people will invite to their house, introduce you to girls, etc. Russia is a great place for making friends. Thais (in my experience) just see you as an ATM. Yeah people will talk to you but they will want something out of it. I think there's just way too many tourists in Thailand these days so most Thais don't bother because they know they will never see you again. Maybe 30 years ago things were different.
friendlier than Mexico
depends on the criteria
will you get cartelled?
or have some antifa bartender be snarky to you?
Im a White American.
A: Turkey, Scotland, Ireland and UK, Australia
B: Poland, Ukraine, Slavic countries
C: Argentina and Chile
D/F: Mexico, California, American Southwest.
I just wanted to say Australians are thee coolest people on the planet. Them and anyone from the Anglo countries, unless they are progressive liberals. The worst people i have met have been in MEXICO and the country of Georgia. Turkish people are fantastix as well.
Ummm fuck face mexicans are the slimmiest people you will ever meet. Go outside you resort anon, you cant trust ANYONE in mexico. They are all trying to steal from you. Try ordering a beer and try getting your change back. Fucking mexicans are trash man.
t. lived there.
Tips on meeting some nice Irish lads and lasses? Heading there soon
Irish lasses are amazingly fun and open to conversation. They will literally pick YOU up lmfao. No joke, i was walking home from a bar one time and these random irish girls pulled up in their car and screamed GET IN! Wild stuff.
Bars are WAY better than clubs, know this. Drunkenness is a problem, i had multiple experiences where folks would randomly want to fight me. One time i was walking home late and a random drunk irishmen yelled WUY YOU GOT YOUR ARMS CROSS MATE (it was cold) and SLAMMED into me. Lmfao. Way drunk dude. Get used to that shit.
I was shit canned when i typed this but it is actually 100% genuine. FUCK mexicans. God bless Anglo saxon countries.
I also lived there and had a nothing but a great time. Helpful, nice, gave their two pesos and listened as I gave mine. Not to mention the ladies. Very cool.
You have shit taste anon. Fuck off. There far better places in the world. Latinos could all die and the world would be a better place.
You really thought Jamaica was friendlier than the Bahamas? I've been to both multiple times, both don't have the friendliest people but Bahamians are infinitely better than Jamaicans. There's a reason the rest of the Caribbean hates Jamaicans and it's cause they're ass holes and con artists
can really only speak for the countries I have been to
Utterly retarded. This is why people should take everything they see on this board with a massive grain of salt
I m from Argentina and currently live in Norway. I would put Norway in the F category or the lowest on possible can.
A. Philippines, Vietnam, Brazil, Oman
B. Rural US, Greece, Turkey
C. Poland, HK, Sweden, Germany, France, Australia(oy just a friendly banter m8)
D. Belgium, Netherlands, Urban US
E. Can't think of much but of course, many Parisians weren't nice, and my layover in Guangzhou in China wasn't very pleasant
>judging a country based on a layover
Come on dude.
I didn’t, I did not put China anywhere, as a matter of fact, I just referred to the layover itself. Never been to China yet but really want to
Oh shit forgot to add
Never been to anywhere else in the UK
Yes, Scottish people are so friendly! I took a 2 weeks trip to travel across all of Scotland and I absolutely love it. My trip to the UK ends with a 3 days trip to London too and it was meh as compared to Scotland. People can be so condescending in London.
>A. Philippines, Vietnam, Brazil, Oman
>B. Rural US, Greece, Turkey
>C. Poland, HK, Sweden, Germany, France, Australia(oy just a friendly banter m8)
>D. Belgium, Netherlands, Urban US
>E. Can't think of much but of course, many Parisians weren't nice, and my layover in Guangzhou in China wasn't very pleasant
Nice list here, from the ones I've experienced: Philippines, vietnam, urban US, HK.
HK gets a +1 boost from all the indonesian and filipinas that come to work there
They just wanted my money. Any someone talked to me on the street, they would end up asking me to follow them and buy shit.
Vietnam is very friendly. I can't imagine another country where in rural areas they treat you so kindly even though you don't know their language. Easy to make friends as well, but most don't speak English.
A: Thailand & Vietnam (Just genuine intrigue in their eyes and so friendly)
B: Singapore & Japan (friendly as fuck but it's all surface level unless you get to know them deeper)
C: Russia (They seem rude at first but after an ice breaker they open up)
D: Germany (Really weird people, not necessarily rude just odd)
F: Australia & England (Can never tell if they're angry or friendly)
did you go to bangkok or elsewhere?
People always said thai people are friendly, but I spent a month there in bangkok and to be honest it just felt like people were unbothered/not that friendly. Gave off the big city vibe of 'im too busy to care' mostly
B: Colombia , USA, UAE
C:All of west europe
E: INDIA, they act like they're in any place to look down on anybody FUCK THEN
>Japan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Indonesia
>Sri Lanka, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, U.A.E
Aussie here, everyone is really friendly but obviously I’m a local. Are we really so unfriendly to you guys? For sure people in Melbourne and Sydney like to kind their own business, but surely you’ll have had some good experiences in small towns?
One important thing to realise is that Australians can come across as rude and unfriendly, but it's just your humour and behaviour I guess. If one looks past that it's obvious ozzies are actually quite friendly
You just need to get used to dealing with the banter
they're not used to our piss-taking, especially seppos
Australian's I've met traveling abroad or even here in the UK are top people. Part and parcel I suppose
Johnny Foreigner can't into banter
I don't know about the friendliest, but the rudest people I've ever encountered, to an almost comical extent, are the Austrians.
Austrians or Viennese?
Same here anon.
better don't go to hungary then
A) Turkey, Philippines, most arabic countries and iran, amerimutts
B) Hong Kong, Netherlands, Koreans
I'm a little skewed because I go to a lot of metal pubs and metal shows, so that's the easiest place to make like minded autismo friends. Beyond that though I think this would be ones that pop into mind after 48 countries:
S: Sweden (I know, they're autists but every Swede I've met abroad or in Sweden was down for a chat and a laugh)
A: Malaysia, England, Scotland, USA
B: Italy, New Zealand, Taiwan, Georgia, Turkey
C: Hungary, Slovakia, Lithuania, Czechia, Azerbaijan, Greece
E: Kuwait, Paris, Costa Rica, Denmark, Romania
Albania/Kosovo in E tier
Most Friendly ---
Least Friendly ---
>Major German cities
As an American I would think we could go either way some places like the south believe it or not can be very friendly racial tension is played up for politics but I visited the Waffle House in Tennessee and Kentucky all the races were enjoying their grits and coffee even cigarettes together
>Japan above Western Europe
What? Unless you are a nip yourself the Japanese will always view you as a foreigner even if you speak fluent Japanese, OP is retarded.
America is definitely the best country to make practical friends if you're at least middle class and only visit places a middle class person would enjoy. For instance if you go hiking, everyone you see no matter the race or state is 100% guaranteed to be very open and friendly, as poor people don't have the inclination to waste their time on recreation that isn't drinking or partying.
Best is definitely subjective and people say the non-ghetto Americans are overly friendly and would spend their whole day helping a stranger do whatever, but you could easily find that in many places. I'd say America has the most practical friends if you're looking at it from a pure "what can I get out of it" selfish standpoint. The middle class is well connected and knowledgeable, and you'll gain a lot from knowing people and they'll even invite you to nice places you otherwise would not have known about. This applies to jobs as well.
t. grew up middle class and still benefiting from the connections to this day, connections purely from having an iota of a connection with a stranger to the point of talking to them such as sitting close to them at a country restaurant or something. My status right now is "sometimes I'm poor sometimes I have too much money"
It's only northern europeans that say Americans are uncomfortably nice in my experience. They (particularly germans) think they're the center of the universe and that their values are universal and just can't wrap their heads around the idea that someone genuinely would be concerned about a stranger's experience.
I think Americans actually got this trait from the southern europeans who immigrated to the US starting in the 1800s. It's part of the culture there to be concerned about everyone and to reciprocate by pretending you're fine so they don't feel bad for you.
Germans were obnoxious when I went there. Smug as fuck
are you brown?
"AMERICA" You gotta break it down by region anon. The American Southwest, California beeing the worst, its very hard to make friends. Tons of migrants, no real unity, it really goes to show how bad diversity can destroy social cohesion and trust.
S: Canada, Philippines, Scotland
A: Hong Kong, Greece
B: USA, Mexico
C: England, Bahrain
D: Germany, Italy
Middle Eastern countries are at the top. East Asian and Slavic countries are at the bottom. Seems to be the rule.
I'd like to rank countries, but I myself am an anti-social autismo that get literal panic attacks if I need to have short-term social interactions.
Any country here rated D or lower, i'll do just fine in
sounds like North Korea is for you
>B: America, Vietnam, China, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria
ah, this is a troll. morons, chinks and n.africans are the scum of humanity. they hate whites, they are envious, they are greasy, they only want to steal and cheat you.
