Understandable, that place is supposed to have a nice climate, low prices (but this may have changed with all the Russians moving there), good food and stunning scenery. Their alphabet is indecipherable though.

Most of them aren't tourists, but refugees. 250,000 Russian men crossed the border into Georgia within the last 6 months. Iran has visa free travel so men flee Iran go to Georgia. India has some special deal with Georgia too where Jeeters are buying up property there.
White South African farmers were welcomed there as well. One of the only countries willing to save them from genocide.

Armenian diasporanagger here, Vatniks jacked up the prices in Yerevan by a fuck ton. they are slightly going down now since things have cooled but tblisi and yerevan are as expensive as European capitals now. Doesnt help that most people live with families so the burden isn''t that hard on them. Armenians are more chill with russians and there is definitely less vatnaggery in Armenia compared to Georgia. Also gogis fucked themselves by shilling too hard for tourism and visas.
Armenians in Armenia are weird in that in the West Armenians are desperate for Western approval but in Armenia they dont give a fuck really, Georgians really do because they unironically think they can join NATO and EU one day (although plenty of armenians think this as well).

Alot of Iranians come to Armenia but its mostly for being able to drink and for the women to take off their hijabs, I have never heard of large groups staying long term. There are jeet students and the like in armenia but its nothing noticable at all. Pretty based they are accepting white SAs never knew that, we should do the same.

Plenty of digital nomad types and others found out about tblisi. I think Georgia as a whole has more interesting stuff like mountains and the like but virtually they are the same, I say this as an Armenian but Armenia has more a provincial charm to it but both capitals are pretty much the same pros and cons. If you are going for women probably better chances in Georgia

Even though the russofags have caused prices in Georgia to skyrocket, they have caused Armenia to get even more expensive than Georgia. Georgia was already blowing up with tourism and had the development and housing there to begin with. Yerevan didn't. It was costing nearly twice as much to stay in Yerevan as it was Tbilisi.

All of the Russian conscript dodger went to armenia and the scummy Soviet minded landlords jacked up the prices for rent way beyond reason. It’s not an issue for a lot of people because families own homes and most people live with their parents until married but it fucks over tourists. Yerevan and Tbilisi have rents that are as expensive as fucking German cities now it’s insane. Totally not worth going anymore, shame too as they were unique countries with good people.

Tblisi is a shithole. Prices are expensive (inline with the US/UK), people are rude, and food is awful. Visited the national park forest and that was awful. Only good thing I found here was an Armenian store, made most of the money spent here back from the cheap cigs.
Stepantsminsta/Sno has nice mountains, nothing interesting other than the paths.

And more misinformation. The country is fucking cheap! In Tblisi you can find those Handmade mead or cheese pastries EVERYWHERE and they're like £1.20. Restaurants in the most commercial areas aren't even expensive, and transport is cheap too (Unexpected for me) so I don't know where you've been kek.

The only thing you've told the truth about is that the Food isn't the best. But even then, there are a few dishes that very tasty so you always have those. And anyway for American palates not used to good food all of it is good, Americans love Georgian food.

I went in October, obviously the prices have increased but if you never knew you'd think the prices were still reasonable, and if you're in small towns and the countryside (where you fucking should be) it's even more reasonable.

Not many people speak English, correct but that's the fun of it. And the people that you'll really need to be able to communicate with will speak enough English.

Batumi is a tourist resort town with lots of foreigners, Russian and Turkish sluts. Tbilisi is just more conservative. Not as much as Yerevan though you can still score with chicks. Would really recommend Georgia.

The poor infrastructure isn't a problem because of how small it is, it's probably still super cheap, the ethnically homogenous locals are hospitable and interested in visitors, the history is rich and there are a ton of things to do.

You can go trekking, skiing, hiking, half the country is an active archrological site, they're conservative in the medieval way of drinking wine by the jug and singing in taverns. Often you will be in the Georgian equivalent of spoons after a big night out and the drunks from the night before will form some kind of chior.

The Russia/ Georgia shit is somthing they get buthurt about not somthing your need to get burhurt about, just don't speak to young people in Russian... unless you're actually Russian. Strange problem eurasians and bloc nationals can have.

They hate gays, it's not uncommon for bone heads to come up to people who look gay and bully them.

Drugs are a total no. There's not much out there, the prices are a total joke, and the mafia is way heavier than you'd expect from a glance. Police are thugs but you'll rarely see them.

It gets cold in many regions, like... snow. But it's very hot in summer so you may out may not want to bring winter gear.

Vegitarians can have a bad time, you can always buy fresh fruit and veg and there's an abundance of tree nuts. This being said Georgians don't look favourably on vegitarians and associate it with homosexuality. As a nation they don't know what a "hippie" is.

You'll get used to the informal Georgian bus network pretty quickly, it looks sketchy but that's just what it is.

And because you can fly into Georgia for like $50 I'm surprised more people aren't hoping in and out through larnaca, Greece and the like.

Very interesting and accurate take though.

Is it any different to marshrutkas prevalent in the former Soviet Union?

        Anonymous

no, it's the same mashrutkas as everywhere else in ex-USSR

Georgian mashrutkas are probably the worst I've ever been on, lots of drivers who play loud Soviet pop at full volume and rip off the foreign travelers for as much as possible

          Anonymous

Never had issue with that. Dirt cheap. You pay. You get on. Granted, the experience is something fucking insane. I haven't had soviet pop at full volume, but I had an old driver, driving in heat (meaning, during the summer) he hasn't sipped, not even a slight of water and was driving like absolute lunatic. We were on a highway and he often just took over other cars even in curves and often even decided to drive in the cars opposite direction and just honk to let others know. That was crazy!

Some drivers are like that, others more relaxed. It's pretty chill ohterwise.

      >ethnically homogenous locals
If you dig a little deeper, you'll find lots of regional identities, and I'm not just talking about the obvious breakaway provinces, Pankisi Chechens or immigrants from the Caucasus, Svans and Adjarians. There's Khevsurs, Mingrelians, Imerelians, Tushetians, Javakhetians... It's a surprisingly tribal nation still, with for example half of Javakheti being Armenian by ethnicity - distinct from either Georgians or Javakhetians.

      >Vegitarians can have a bad time. [...] This being said Georgians don't look favourably on vegitarians and associate it with homosexuality. As a nation they don't know what a "hippie" is.
It's one of the easiest places to find vegetarian food in my experience, even in the countryside. Never got hassled for it, but I'm tall, muscular, have a sizeable beard and cauliflower ears and am happy to partake in the plentifully provided chacha so not easily associated with homosexuality. Skews my perspective for sure, but I suspect that as long as you don't look or behave gay, you're unlikely to be bothered.

You can get an Airbnb room for 15-25$ a night depending on how close to center you want it to be, pic related for how it would look.
Taxi in the city would cost roughly 1$-4$ per trip, so if you will travel around a lot on taxi it would average out to 9$ a day if you take like 3 taxi trips around.
Bus and Metro is fully negligible price, costs 30 cents, basically free.
Equivalent of generic full meal costs roughly 7$, so like imagine a big burger+fries+cola at a place like Pipes burger at Fabrica, these prices are roughly universal across different types of food and if you go to traditional food places especially less popular ones it will be cheaper, one khinkali dumpling costs 50 cents on average so you can eat 10 gigantic dumplings (one dumpling is roughly size of 3 chinese soup dumplings) for 5 $ and not want to eat for the rest of the day. A fancier restaurant like Veriko or Salobiebia might cost you like 28$ per person, that includes a glass of wine a dish like Gurulian Kababs fused with some Chinese style sweet sour tastes and an apetizer like roasted vegetables with sourcream and walnut sauce and georgian bread.
Staying in Tbilisi for a week living costs and food all out included should not cost you more than 300$-500$ for 7 days depending on how much you go all out, but it is also stupid to just be in Tbilisi. You need to go out a bit, rent a car and drive to Kazbegi, drive to Sighnagi, Dashbashi canyon, at least go to some of the normie locations

Don't forget insulting your sexuality/masculinity! Puto

Very difficult to pin point a single location since that's not uncommon.
If you want to go specifically to region most famous for wine go to Kakheti.
Best solution always is to find friends locally and have fun in some village with relatives for most authentic experience.
