Like anywhere, it's what you make of it.

The banter was painfully forced, and Geowizard's increasingly flowery narration is really getting on my breasts!

As someone who just mildly hikes around I hate these fricks for constantly stepping onto other peoples lands then just acting the anglo "OI M8 JUST GOIN FO A WALKS 'ERE NOFFIN WRONG! JUST ME HOLIDAY!".
They give people who are doing honest mistakes a terrible name so when you do unintentionally go off the trails or get lost and walk onto someones property they think you are like these chuckle fricks looking for a free campsite and stay.

Like I get they try challenges and what not, I get they do not condone it, but they still keep fricking going on about doing it then HEHEHHE FUNNY MAD MAN MAD WE WUZ ON HIS LAND YEAH?

They didn't do it much on this trip, probably because they were overly paranoid about gun owners, as if rural Americans just blow the heads off of any random person on their property in daylight. Kind of annoyed me when they got angry about the gun sign on the one property they cut through since that sign was most likely there as a warning about firing range or target practice, but they treated like a "trespassers will be shot on sight," sign. Though, I suppose that's an easy mistake to make if your a Brit who know nothing about guns.

Wasn't talking specifically about the US but more-so just in general, I get they aren't leaders of the charge for cutting through people's shit in straight line challenges or this but they do make themselves to be perfect examples of shit that re-enforces this attitude against hikers.

    >What the frick went wrong with the American trip?
He found out the exact reason every euro fricks up with america. He failed to grasp the size and culture shock between "country and people in Europe" and America.

First off he just didn't understand the size and private property means no allowed means just that, people aren't willing to just let you cut through anywhere simply due to simply existing. Areas he was planning to go were simply no go zones for safety or no go because they were private property

Secondly he didn't account for unsafe areas and how americans look at being safe, I loved his asking people like in philly about places and people just straight up going NO BRO having to last minute change what he thought. He was insanely lucky in the more rural parts to have some people help him with the car situation.

Lastly, he did basically no research outside that of Hollywood level "oh yeah this place = X lol miami is like GTA vice city! XD". This is and will always be the most baffling thing to me from euros who loath over that shithole. His expectations for things were so crazy it was no wonder he got fricked constantly wasting time expecting something that simple lives in fiction.

To top it all off he kept trying to do this on a very slim budget and haggle shit around being full on laughable. I seriously am suprised this moron has as much an easy time as he did given how fricking stupid some of the stunts he though "works in europe why do blacks hate me?"

The US is very lively in movies, but feels like a dead mall in real life.
It's not the same for Europe which can be full of SOVL in real life.

USA is very livable if you go in with basic street knowledge and keep to yourself rather than go into da hoods from da tv shows and expect something.

You can tell he had no idea about inner city nogs causing his series to be shit. After some black dude pulled over to attempt and beat his ass you can tell how much he had to edit the videos down to avoid random minority encounters. At DC you could tell he shifted everything to be in the safety of no nogs for each and every stop it's hilarious, even his miami episode felt like he just needed to dodge the trash from where he went for "muh vice city XD meme".

        >goes to dive bar tourist traps
        >expects 80's music
This had to be the most dumbest stereotypical euro thing I was actually cringing because I know other euro friends who did this exact same thing. No dude you aren't getting 80's music, it's been the top 50 hits for like decades now. You'd need to go to a white place appealing to people willing to pay proper priced drinks and not in nogistan.

He got wienery from how nice everyone was on their European trip. Without help from his subscribers they wouldn't have made it anywhere. Still a mildly entertaining series though.

I made it through 2 episodes and gave up. Him and his friend come off as annoying begging scamming normie fricks, massive attention prostitutes and just all round homosexuals.

the straight line missions were so kino and watching this series made me look at them differently

You all sound like whining homosexuals. This series was like 15% worse than the europe one. Peak comfy content and the dude puts his heart and soul into this stuff. They don't beg for a single thing, people happily go out of their way to help them along the journey. Not to mention the bikes they donated, cars they bought and sold, and businesses they endorsed via the series. They literally gave more than they took and almost got stabbed by Black folk

It thought it was pretty good, probably could have done with a bit better editing, but I think Tom was rushing things with it by the sounds, but I thought it had plenty of good moments.
Is it because you guys live in America that you thought it was disappointing?

Only reason I disliked the american one is because he reminds me of every moronic foreigner who comes here
      >DUDE LEMME HAGGLE IN A HOTEL IT WILL TOTALLY WORK!
      >Let me try the shittiest piss beer XD IT'S SOOOOO BAD
      >rofl why do people get mad at me for playing sports ball in the streets? I do it at home all the time
      >Why are minorities so mean to me? I'm simply a white arrogant foreigner?
      >WHY CAN'T I PISS IN PUBLIC??????
      >WHY IS X PLACE DIFFERENT FROM TV/MOVIE? I EXPECTED X

I didn't hate the series but it was seriously like oh.. yeah my moronic euro friends all think this way too.

Used to see it all the time in Arizona. Some Euro tourist thinking they can see the Grand Canyon, then drive to Dallas, Texas that evening.

You literally can though, it's like 6-8 hours max from the grand canyon to dallas

And that's the "fast" route, these folks had to stop in Phoenix to pick up one of their friends at Sky Harbor.

I actually live in Arizona, there was nothing more funny than my Norwegain friend visiting me and not understanding it can be 25-30C in the valley and 2-3 hours north snowing.

I lived there for ~25 years, and was always amused that people thought all of Arizona looked like a road-runner cartoon, and how amazed they became when you ran them into the Bradshaws, or up Oak Creek Canyon.

My friends from Europe wanted to come visit me in the Southwest. They wanted to do Vegas+Grand canyon then pause in LA while going to SanFran, see hawaii, before going to Miami and DC to fly out of NYC. All within a week.

Like yeah it's possible if you don't stop moving to take shit in, and then got flabbergasted by the fact we have 4 timezones. They seriously do not get just how BIG the USA is, even if you fly everywhere it's still a trek to see just a few states. It doesn't help yuro's arent; normally up for driving more than 4hrs

Frenchy came to visit once, wanted to take a trip to Nashville from KC. He thought it'd be a day trip, until I pulled up google maps and showed him how far it really is.

It wasn't as good as his previous journeys, but I still found it entertaining. The problem really stems from their desire to travel in odd ways. That simply doesn't work in America. You want to see the country, you drive. That's it. No other options. If Tom had just bitten the bullet and rented a car then stopped at various locations to see uniquely American things it would have been kino. Instead, they bumbled about with no research trying to get wacky transportation, failed miserably every time, then had to completely rush the second half of the trip. I mean, shit, they failed to find a single Amish person while in PA. That was fricking embarrassing.

Yeah his "I GOTTA DO A WHACKY TREK!" is what killed his normal layout, that shit is just not feasible in the US the same way it is in EU or other places much smaller than the US>

The boat parts where they were bumbling with the outboard could have been a disaster; as they were they just ended up being annoyingly cringeworthy.

        Anonymous

Yeah, watching them fumble with boats/jetskis ineffectually for days was lame. A shame that cut into the time they could spend on the better parts of the trip. The fact that they only spent about one day enjoying nature was a damn shame, though the old guy who picked them up when they tried to hitchhike was based, and they're lucky as frick he was around.

Tom is basically a bumbling moron who tends to sleepwalk his way into entertaining and interesting scenarios. Unfortunately, that works well for parts of Europe and doesn't work well for most of the US. Instead of some grand East Coast journey, he should have tried a smaller area like the Northeast (or just New England) and test out stuff in America before the big month long trek.

      America isn't even that big

        Anonymous

It's not, but to Europeans it's massive. Also, traveling America is different than traveling Europe. So if you're like Tom, who did very little research or planning, trying to create whacky content for your youtube, it might not go like you'd expect.
I don't hate him like some in this thread do, but I think this series had a lot of missed potential and it's pretty much his fault. In fact, he got really lucky multiple times with strangers that kind of saved it.
