Getting into Russia

For reasons completely unrelated to the high quality of Russian ass I would like to go backpacking in Russia soon as an American. How fricked am I and what sort of process am I looking at to get in?

First of all there is literally no way to reserve a flight to Russia, so my mentality was that I would fly to somewhere like Finland / Estonia and then get into Russia by train, but I'm wondering what's going on with the visa system. Can I just sort of freewheel around the country like I could in the EU for a couple weeks or do I have to plan everything ahead rigidly? Should I expect to wait three months to get a visa only to get rejected?

How exactly is a man supposed to gain access to the 10-15 Russian gold diggers he's currently chatting with?

For reasons related to the high quality of Russian donkeys, I prefer to bring Russia to America as soon as possible. What am I doing, what information am I looking for?

Firstly, you can't fly into Russia, so I would probably fly to Finland/Estonia and from there by train to Russia, but I'm wondering how the visa process goes. Can I travel the world for a few weeks, like to the EU, or do I have to actively plan everything? I have to wait three months and the visa will be cancelled?

How do you feel about the 10-15 Russian gold diggers they talk about here?

iirc passenger trains between finland/baltics and RU are fricked, just fly through Turkey

They aren't. The busses maybe even ferries are still going apparently. I asked both Russian and my own embassy. Daily. For 60-80 euros.

Can link if wanted. I'm thinking of backpacking through Baltics first, seeing how I feel and then go to Saint Pt.

Entering after the specified entry date is fine. Leaving after the specified exit date, no matter the actual length of stay, is not.

        Good.

          OK, so for those wondering.

Ferries are apparently not operational. However border can still be crossed with a car or via bus.

Here is what I was told to use:

          http://skandinavia.spb.ru/
          https://www.hh-kuriiri.fi/
          https://ecolines.net/international/en
          https://luxexpress.eu/en/routes/helsinki-st-petersburg/
          https://bus.sovavto.ru/

Lux Express seems the most intuitive. Haven't had the time to check the rest.

I can vouch for LuxExpress, their buses are comfortable and on time, even their non-deluxe services.

be aware that most cards issued outside of Russia e.g. Mastercard, Visa will not work inside Russia. your gold diggers will be unimpressed if you can't pay for their baubles and trinkets

It's called flying via a third state: Istanbul is the most convenient option.

I want to do this trip too. I'm Yurop gay, so I'm going through Finland via a bus.

Before I do that though, I also want to score the visa. So I'll have to check it out.

Visa is also my concern, you apparently need some stupid invitation or maybe not, idk and then itinerary which they apparently don't care about, so can be just random data, mostly.

However how am I supposed to know when I'll enter the land? I don't know when exactly I'll go, what if I enter a day later? This pisses me off.
