Any tips I should consider before going there?
My main concerns are around
>insects, specially mosquitoes
>buying food and bottled water
since they told me to be extremely carfeul with those
>getting phone connection while there
Buy a SIM card maybe? I'll be staying for 17 days
>what to expect from Kenyans
are they welcoming? I've barely met any Kenyan so far

Also, what about money? Should I exchange some? How much? I don't expect to make great expenses, after all
Dude - its Nairobi; one of the largest and few prosperous cities in Africa, not some village in the african bush.
>insects, specially mosquitoes
Buy some Tabard to rub on your skin or buy a can of Peaceful Sleep for your room.
Alternatively ask your doc for some Malaria pills
>buying food and bottled water
You do know the place has KFC, right and that bottled water is available at any mart?
Otherwise go to a Woolworths store and see if they have their Food section there.
>getting phone connection while there
Get a MTN sim at the airport if you can
>what to expect from Kenyans
Kenya is a tourist country; so you will have people who will be friendly out of hospitality, but also on the flip side hoping to make money out of you.
>Also, what about money? Should I exchange some? How much?
You should be able to pay with card at most retailers, but having small amounts of cash will be handy.
cool, thanks
Any experiences you'd like to share?
>getting phone connection while there
Get Safaricom, it's the most reliable network. Never heard of anyone using MTN. Think is confusing Kenya with Uganda or sth
Cool
>the place has KFC
in africa? you don't say?
You have to get a malaria vaccine if you go to any country

now I am lloking for the cholera pills, which are hard af to find where I live
*looking
>malaria vaccine
Dumb larpers.
Oh look another White Saviour thread
What are you doing as part of your volunteering?
Mainly helping out exhausted teachers that can't take a holiday
You're telling me thousands of dollars are being spent to provide teacher assistants? Is there not a single human in all of Nairobi who is willing to help? And why can't they take holidays?
there must definetly be a need of some kind, since this NGO offered me to enrole
You're going to be trafficked. Goodbye anon
Oh, it's bullshit makework.
