Gonna fly with Ryanair in the EU in a fewd days.
Bought some of this without knowing it was soft cheese (Idc about cheese) and I just found out It might be in the banned foods like camembert.

What's the likelyhood of them letting me slide? do they check thoroughly all foods?
it's almost a kg I don't wanna have it go to waste.

If its an aviation security rule they will confiscate it at the checkpoint before you get to the gate. Has nothing to do with the airline.

If its a Ryanair thing because it smells or whatever don't open the cheese in the plane.

As far as I understand it's the same policy for liquids.

It only happens if customs are checking your luggage.
Also not every country is like that. Some ban most food, some only some types of cheeses, while others don’t ban anything at all.
Don’t look like a drug smuggler, don’t be black, and you’ll be fine.

Airport security staff here: When under xray, soft cheeses are virtually identical in composition to plastic explosives like C4. You might be ok but if I were you id head to the airport 4 - 5 hours before the flight and just be upfront about it and tell them you have soft cheeses on your person.
The swab test takes just a couple of minutes but the compound test can take up to 30 minutes or more.
We normally take the person into the office for a chat first, if they're not sketchy or muslim, we just end up shooting the shit after a few minutes.
    Good luck.

Depends in how good airport security is in following their own procedures. I know I had liver paté confiscated from me in Sweden, but I had the same exact thing on me many times flying out of eg. Germany, Italy or the UK (when it was in the EU), and nobody gave a damn.
I would eat it honestly. With some nice wine and bread or whatever.

Reblochon should stay in the fridge or else it will turn bad.

And i think it's every non-pasteurized cheese that's not allowed in the US.

Brought a friend in China cheese because she'd missed the good stuff from back home. Apparently that's not allowed but no one stopped me.

China is extremely lax about food and many things. The number of shit I brought into China is hilarious. Cheese, ham, sausages, cakes, foie gras, framed antique paintings packed in their huge boxes, and the list goes on.

They are only looking for drugs and ivory or rhino horn.
