Never been deported because the rule is fricking simple. Don't brag or tell people you are a DN unless it's online or once you know you're somewhere that your ass is covered. I mean in reality why you would mouth off about being a DN while traveling is beyond me, the same questions asked nearly in identical order by people gets annoying FAST.

I got deported and blacklisted from thailand for 5 years because the immigration agent on duty decided that I must be 'working here illegally' due to my business casual dress I wore doing a visa run via the $50 round trip flight between BKK and Siam Reap.

This person got her supervisor and a bunch of immigration police(?) and interrogated me as to why I had multiple entries and exits in my passport, and I tried to be as polite and nonchalant about it as I could.

Surely they knew just how many thousands of people were doing visa runs in thailand every week, and I got upset that I had been singled out for no reason. I admitted that used my laptop to manage my business affairs, and they all treated it like it was some sort of amazing "GOTCHA!" moment.
    >SO ARE WORKING HERE!!!
    >YOU WORKING HERE!!!
    >YOU NO HAVE WORK VISAA!!!!
    >YOU WORKING HERE!!!
it was surreal, being surrounded by several screeching thai rats who were treating this moment as if it was somehow a revelation.

No I'm not working here! I check emails from my business online! I don't work for a thai company and don't do business in thailand!
    >WHY YOU DRESS LIKE THAT?
    >WHY YOU BRING LAPTOP ON VISA RUN THEN?
    >YOU WORKING HERE WE KNOW
    >WE KNOW YOU WORKING HERE

At that point I lost my cool and told them to frick off or arrest me. I seriously couldn't believe I was being ganged up on in some weird little back room in the airport by these weasels. They got extremely butthurt when I told them to frick off and devolved into some bizarre roach huddle where they decided my fate.

    >YOU NO MORE VISA. YOU NOT ALLOWED ENTRY. YOU VISA CANCELLED YOU LEAVE NOW.
I have an apartment in bangkok with my possessions, I have 3 days left on my visa. Let me get my things and I'll go.
    >NO VISA. YOU VISA CANCELLED. YOU CANNOT ENTER. WE KNOW YOU WORKING ILLEGALLY. YOU LUCKY WE DON'T ARREST YOU!
I'm telling you I have a bunch of things in my apartment, personal belongings. I need to get them. Personal documents, expensive -

Basic street smarts isn't being hardcore, it's literally shit you learn either personally, socially via friends, or by osmosis of being in society.

You never tell police officers, especially those who are in positions specifically to interview and weed out people breaking the law, that you are doing more than you say you are in regards to the limitations of a tourist visa. Like this isn't 'le being hardcore' it's just being socially aware of your surroundings and environment. Like unless you're actually socially oblivious or autistic, this isn't something hard to put together by the time you are an adult.

Never tell people more than they need to know, I get on SighSee this is weird to say but every shutin incel or sexpat wants to blabber on and on about how based they are while giving away their life story to someone who may use it against their best interests.

Don't feel too bad, anon. You didn't handle it perfectly and you might have been able to avoid the blacklist, but you were going to be denied re-entry that day anyways. They saw you spending too much time on visa runs and you were chosen be denied. If you had kept your mouth shut, they would have denied you entry (maybe given you 7 days, but not a sure thing) and told you to stay away for a while before coming back. So you'd still have to get your landlady to ship your stuff. I'm going to guess that you're probably happier where you are now (unless you really like passable ladyboys), so maybe it all worked out for the best.

    - electronics. I've been here in thailand for almost a year as you know, I have things, clothes, possessions. Please let me get those things.
    >WE KNOW YOU WORK ILLEGALLY
    >HOW WE KNOW YOU LEAVE WHEN PROMISE?
    >NO YOU VISA DENIED ENTRY YOU HAVE PASSPORT, SO GO.
I already have a visa, look it has 3 days left, so-
    >NO! YOUR VISA CANCELLED NOW. WE ARE IMMIGRATION WE DECIDE.

At that point they started to get really antsy looking, perhaps in response to my aggressive body language. I knew I was fricked at point, so I just agreed to leave. I bought a plane ticket to the Philippines and departed about 7 hours later, never left the airport.

I told my landlady what happened and she was kind enough to ship me a box with my stuff to where I wound up staying, and miraculously nothing was stolen or missing.

I had to go through a process to find out exactly what my status in thailand was, and the agency I used finally got me some paperwork that said I had officially been given a deportation order and blacklisted 5 years.

So, the lesson here is just stick to the van visa runs if you are going to do it that way, or look like a grimy piece of tourist trash if you are going to do the flights. If you look like you have your shit together you'll just get picked on (apparently).

If this isn't larp, a visa can be invalidated at any point and time by an officer. Just because "I HAVE 3 DAYS LEFT" doesn't mean shit if they invalidate it.

      >So, the lesson here is just stick to the van visa runs if you are going to do it that way
The lesson here is deny accusations always don't give them anything to indicate yourself of what they say. Also doing 2 countries, especially SEA for some moronic reason, cycle through some various ones like 2 or 3, don't visa hop because they aren't dumb they know you're skirting something and want to know what.

You're not clever for noticing the errors a person made, when they specifically framed the story in such a way to highlight those errors.

It's like watching an airline disaster documentary and then trying to tell somebody else that what they should have done was not crash the plane and acting like you are very clever for noticing that crashing the plane was bad.
