Hawaii

How's life there? Can I move there? (I'm canadian). What are the employment opportunities? The cost of living?

Cost of living is incredibly high, job options are limited, jobs pay less than they would in mainland USA.

Beautiful place and fun for a short time but limited things to do and you are "trapped" on a small island. So you really need to like the limited options you have.

That could work, I'm french canadian, however it seems worse for the cost of living and I don't know how to emigrate to France. I'd look for the EU in general in that case anyways

Cost of living is similar to west coast US cities. You can live there if you can live legally in the US. Certain jobs are in high demand (teachers) some aren’t. Wages are lower than most of the US.
But I lived there I was happiest in my life.

Nayrt but I'm working as an assistant teacher, no degree yet, is there a chance I could find work there? I'm pursuing a teaching degree if that makes a difference

What sort of worthless job is that? It’s low enough to be a public school teacher but an “assistant” to one?

Top Kek, French Polynesia (like Hawaii) makes it difficult for people from the mainland to move and live there, and most eventually pack up and leave after some time. As a cucknadian, you’re never getting to either as immigration laws frick your over not to mention any sort of public school cannot and will not sponsor visas (Hint: teaching below the college level is not a NAFTA job)

Teacher here. I've never lived in Hawaii, but I've only heard horror stories of working in Education there. The pay is bad, and often times leave you working barely paycheck-to-paycheck, especially with the high costs of food and rent. The locals hate foreigners, and will go out of their way to make your worklife miserable. There's a reason why all of the rich families that live on the islands send their kids to private schools. The only positive is the nice weather.

If you're white, you will be harassed at some point, especially if you're in a "local area". Just don't be a dick and things shouldn't escalate beyond words.

I live in California not Hawaii so grain of salt but all the Hawaiians I meet (mostly at my uni) say it's great for a visit but near impossible unless you're doing really specific government work (like NOAA) or you have family already living there. It sounds cool there but you probably will never live there. I tried

Yep it fricking sucks here, I've been here since 2006 and shit is so damn expensive. Luckily I'm a software engineer at pearl harbor, but it is still brutal to live here. Owning a house is pretty much impossible here.

Someday I hope to move to the pacific northwest or maybe even out of country once I get enough money saved. But in my opinion, Hawaii is only good for a visit, residing here sucks.

    >How's life there?
Best on earth if you can adapt, if you are familiar with small town life you're ahead of the game.
    >Can I move there? (I'm canadian).
Sure as long as you meet the requirements for moving to the US
    >What are the employment opportunities?
    Absolutely shit
    >The cost of living?
Expensive, more than you can imagine. also if it's not on island(s) be prepared to wait

Oahu sucks I like Kauai, Maui or Big Island.
