Hello. Currently in Bangkok and plan to leave soon. Does anyone know if it’s possible to finance a plane ticket, or to not buy one fully outright?

contact your embassy if you are trapped in a foreign country and are out of money
its embarrassing but thats what the system is for
Really? If I do that what can they do for me? I’ve never heard of this option before.
>If I do that what can they do for me?
They will assist you in getting a flight back to your home country, if you are out of money.
Depends on your country, you may be compelled to pay back the ticket at some point, perhaps by having your wages garnished in the future, but the last thing any country wants is for a desperado to be running around making trouble because he's tapped out on cash.
In the USA they are pretty lenient with such things, you get one 'freebie' and then after that you might have your passport confiscated until you can prove you have money to travel again.
Interesting. I’m not out of money persay but I have to unexpectedly go home sooner than I thought due to an emergency and it would be a financial relief for me if I didn’t have to pay for a whole ticket for a flight back at the end of this month. Do I have to tell them a sob story or something for their understanding?
>Do I have to tell them a sob story or something for their understanding?
I'll be honest dude, you shouldn't lie to your state department. Being straightforward with how much of a dumbass you are is the best way to call in help from daddy government.
They may as you to produce proof of your finances being in dire straights. They may accept that purchasing a ticket will leave you in a danger zone.
You should really phone a friend or family member to wire you some cash before you go down this route. Embassy assisted flights are kind of a last resort thing.

I don’t know where you heard this, but the “one freebie” thing is 100% wrong. Emergency repatriation assistance takes the form of a loan from the federal government—you will pay it back or the debt will chase you until you die. Not sure if or how soon they actually revoke your passport, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they refused to renew it until the debt was cleared.
You can finance plane tickets. The option will appear at checkout, most airlines offer it.
It is a vastly superior option than what is described here . Do not go through the embassy, they will charge you thousands and you will be forced to pay it back.
>You can finance plane tickets. The option will appear at checkout, most airlines offer it.
this must be an american thing. i don't recall ever seeing an option to do that. do they add an extortionate amount of interest on top or a charge for paying in "six easy payments" or whatever?
I've never seen that being offered. Why would airlines offer something that only gives them increased risk without gaining anything?
You don't have a western bank account? they will lend you the money.
No credit card either? why are you traveling being so poor? its not that fun.
Yes I do. I have credit cards but the limit is lower than the amount needed for a sort of last minute ticket. If there was a monthly payment option for a ticket that would be great.
Lots of credit cards let you pay in 3/4/5 months anon. Interest would be almost a scam but still...
your embassy won't do shit, and even if they help you, you will pay the full ticket the moment you go home, so no point going there to look like a fucking idiot in front of everyone, your situation is obviously not an international emergency.
I don’t understand. How can I buy a $1200 plane ticket with a credit card of limit being $300? Unless I’m missing something here
how did you get to bangkok in the first place?
anyway $300 is enough to buy a skimpy outfit, some high heels and some lipstick, just dress up and chat up desperate looking foreigners. you should be able to afford the ticket after sucking a few dozen dicks
>anyway $300 is enough to buy a skimpy outfit, some high heels and some lipstick, just dress up and chat up desperate looking foreigners. you should be able to afford the ticket after sucking a few dozen dicks
lol
What kind of credit card has a limit of $300?
uh...anon are you stalking some poor girl there?
Yes
No, that's a meme. Embassies will not pay you for your plane ticket. They won't help you out at all except with some information.
you can, theoretically walk into thai immigration and speak to an immigration officer and explain your situation
they will be pissed but they will deport you, and likely ban you from re-entry for a number of years
have your bank account statement ready, as well as a sincere apology for the trouble
actually this reminds me of a story a friend told me, he overstayed his visa by a ton (months), and was freaking out
he filed a police report saying that he had been robbed of all his money, and played up being a dumbass keeping it all in cash in his room
then he went to thai immigration with that police report and showed them he had no money due to theft, and was promptly deported, given a bill for his overstay, and banned from the country for a few years and until he paid back the fine
I don't know how much he was bullshitting, but in theory is sounds plausible.
if you're white and skinny thai ladyboys will pay YOU 1000thb to cum in your ass without a condom
Really? The last one only wanted me to fuck her. Was really weird but hot, she kept biting her arm very hard as I fucked her, and on her arm covered in bite scars?
