Anglo here. I’ve done all 3 extensively. I’ve seen more of England, Scotland and Ireland than you will in a lifetime.
Comfy pub culture and nature, Ireland BTFOS Scotland and England every day of the week.
I used to spend a lot of time in Ireland when I was younger, and I always noticed pubs there were better. Since the cities are much smaller and things always felt slightly behind, there was no club culture outside one or two cities. Bars (distinctly different to pubs) were virtually non existent too. Resulted in everyone, young people, old folks, basically everyone local going to the same one or two pubs in any city. Not to mention, most pubs in the UK these days outside of country villages are heavily dominated by chains like Wetherspoons. Results in them all being pretty much the exact same, whilst not exactly bad, not the same as the Pub culture in Ireland. Not saying you can’t find good pubs in the UK, just that the overall pub culture in Ireland is better (and different) in my experience.
As for nature, Ireland is a much greener place. It’s shocking how lush it is, even compared to England which is very green. The wild Atlantic way has nature that rivals Scotland easily, not to mention much less of the drab, grey industrial shitholes that Scotland is full of. Oh, also no Scottish people, massive bonus.
Going to pubs in Southern England, in towns like Oxford and Bath, were peak comfy my friend.
Perhaps, I’ll agree with you that there are some very comfy spots there but it’s not reflective of the country as a whole by any means. Pub culture in Oxford or Cambridge is completely different to pub culture in London or Liverpool or Birmingham. You know, the populated areas where most people actually live.
Ireland is nice and green but no where near as varied as Scotland (if nature was the primary concern).
