It's a streets and streets of snow sculptures, including shit like Pokemon, people, food, animals, buildings, landmarks, beer bottles, anime characters, planes etc etc. Is there anywhere else on Earth that has such a huge gathering of ice sculptures?

I'm here now (just left the snow festival and am leaving it entirely tomorrow). Skiing/snowboarding is great here and I liked the cities I've been to a lot (Hakodate, and Sapporo) despite having missed out on a bunch of shit in both in them and heard from others I met here that places outside of them like Otaru and Noboribetsu were also cool.
I still think the normal Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto route is best for a first time visitor unless you're hyper into one specific thing outside those places/their surrounding area, but I think it's absolutely worth visiting. I have a list of things I wasn't able to do due to timing/outside the areas I went that I am going to keep for the future. Only bad thing is everything is really spread out so it takes forever to get anywhere and transit isn't as great as it is on the mainland. I'd love to take a few weeks to explore the Eastern portion of the Island which I never touched
