I would gladly pay for my own airline ticket if they would just get rid of the quarantine requirements altogether.

I'm not going to any country making it this much of a pain in the ass, and hk is extremely expensive, rather just to to Taiwan.

    >Incoming international travelers must submit a pre-flight vaccination certificate, as well as a negative PCR test and rapid antigen test, before entering.
    >Once they've been permitted to enter, visitors are required to undergo a three-day self-monitoring period, during which time they're prohibited from eating in restaurants or visiting bars.
    >Visitors also need to complete PCR tests on days 2, 4 and 6 after arrival, and a rapid antigen test every day for seven days.

    Yeah, I'm not interested.

So that you can arbitrarily forced to go in quarantaine?
    To have spyware installed?
To be arrested by Chinese police for whatever they may think you've done?

      >To be arrested by Chinese police for whatever they may think you've done?
This is the big one. Even if they get rid of vaccine, quarantine, testing, and contact tracing requirements, the real issue here is the Chinese police arresting you.

        >the real issue here is the Chinese police arresting you
what do you think the lines are for the police to arrest you? do you think they will arbitrarily arrest random tourists?

Half of the tickets will go to people living in Shenzhen.
The other half will go to people living in Macao.

There's no point giving free air tickets to people who don't need to fly there.

If they kept somewhat their independence, it could be easily be a place where I would settle down and get old.
But as it is now? Might be worse for a foreigner to stay there than in somewhere like Shanghai.

Why would I visit? There's nothing there other than Chinamen. They wanted independence from my country, they got it, and now they whine about being subject to the same laws as the countrymen they longed to rejoin. Oops.

There was a weird air of hostility in the city when I was there during the last World Cup. Everyone seemed to be walking around with a scowl on their face. Maybe it was the heat and humidity though. A few parts I remember from the trip:

    >saw angry Brit throw a beer at a taxi in Central, that was pretty funny. The taxi was blaring his horn though so it was justified.

    >smoked a cigar in front of some bank and talked with an Aussie who was lamenting the state of affairs of his home country. Said he wanted to move to NYC to be an artist of some sort.

    >got griped at by a lady for trying to take a picture of her counterfeit goods on Temple Street. It was a Lego set called Star Wart. I just thought it was funny but she didn't think so

I was in HK during the world cup back then actually. Everyone was hating on china hard, the taxi guys and a tour guide were just saying they've only made things worse

It's sad how they act completely moronic and willingly kill their cities and economies just for the sake of their fragile egos.

    >Be in HK
    >Talk mandarin to everybody cause their English is at Japan levels of atrocious
    >Come back
    >Senpai asks me how it was
    >Tell them that I used mandarin to communicate
    >"Didn't they get angry at you?"
I was only a tourist but everyone seemed quite happy and surprised that I could communicate with them. To my surprise I could understand a bit of their Cantonese. Did I just get lucky or is it just a meme that they dislike mandos?

China literally imported close to 2 million mainlanders into HK in the last 25 years (1/4 of total population). Mainlanders were also the biggest tourist group to HK for the last 20 years. Most people in HK knows Mandarin, whether they like it or not (also why some of their English sucks. They didn't grew up in HK.)

Think of it as white replacement, except both sides are the same race.

HK has always been flooded with mainland immigrants. You think they went from sleepy fishing village to mega metropolis just on birth rate alone? Take your meds troony

I am a yearly traveller to Hong Kong (part culture obsession, part coom). My last visit in late January 2020 was pretty depressing. First of all, the city is empty. In 2018 you would see crowds upon crowds, even though it was the new chinese year, you couldn't say that the streets were full even 20%. Second the coom was not so great, the girls that were available around Temple Street and the prostitute buildings were mostly old or ugly cambodian brown shitskins. The Russians and the top beauties seem to have left. There were a few really young chinese girls, I smashed a cute 16yo for a day but it cost me 10k HKD. Most shops are closed due to bankruptcy and certain things like the IFC tower viewing deck was closed. It's a shell of what it once was. I will be heading to Seoul soon instead (I don't wanna go to Tokyo because I hate mentally ill weeb cringe)

I don't think I would visit HK again even on a free ticket because it's dead. No crowds, none of the crazy nightlife it used to have with chinese and venezuelan prostitutes pulling you in the club by your arm, they dont even let you get on top of skyscrapers to get a view. The city has become insanely cucked and gay because of CCP

British Hong Kong, I would have done were I old enough to do it. Chinese Hong Kong... soulless and pointless.
