I saw a stand-up comedian in Houston once. He said something like this:
"Houston! I love Houston. There's so much to do here! You can go to Galveston, you can go to Austin, San Antonio.."
Visit the original Lupe Tortilla on Hwy 6 though, it's fricking worth it.

The only real appeal of Houston is the food. Decent museum city I guess

Lived here 30 years and it changed from comfy white suburbs to suburban sprawl hellscape with Asians and Mexicans moving into the burbs. I don’t know why they love white countries, white neighborhoods, and white companies — we are not superior. But here’s somethings you can do:
    >memorial park — hiking and jogging course
    >Rice campus walking/jogging trail
    >Herman Park
    >museums near Herman park — art & science
    >Menil Collection (FREE art museum) + park + walk through St Thomas uni nearby
More out of the way stuff. West side:
    >Edith Moore bird sanctuary
    >Terry Hershey park
    Clear lake area:
    >Johnson Space Center
    >Armand Bayou
    >Kemah Boardwalk (tourist trap with lots of great seafood)
    >San Jacinto Battleground (has memorial tower plus hundreds of Mexican families that enjoy picnicking)
Way out of the way to the north (if you like hiking):
    >Sam Houston National Forest

      YOU HAD ONE JOB

Also OP, you'll want to visit the 3rd and 4th Wards

I don't understand why people live here.
Extremely hot and humid all year round. Get half an inch of snow once every decade and the entire city shuts down. Everything is paved. Toll roads everywhere. You can get texmex or texmex or if you really like it, tex mex.

Houston is the worst major city in Texas.

Dallas - Business/Finance. Relatively boring otherwise. Decent museums. The entire area is really separated out by race and wealth pretty well. Like NYC, there's defined "white", "chinese", "korean", areas. Also a shit-ton of Californians moving in constantly and driving up prices.

    >4/10

San Antonio - Historical Sites, Caves, Mexican stuff, food. Everything you'd want in visiting a major city. A fun place to go.
    >7/10

Austin - Nature, Music, College town feeling, hipsters/artists like it. Many conventions and festivals.
    >7/10 (if you're into that shit, otherwise 3/10)

Houston - Cesspool of IRL "amerimutt" people in their cars going from
restaurant to restaurant. Only thing people do is eat and watch sports. Everyone weights 350 pounds, it's always humid and gross outside. Also the zoning laws or shit. It's like a minecraft world. Houses right next to office building parking garages? Sure. Industrial warehouses randomly nested in a residential neighborhood? Yeah have at it. Rent a car and see for yourself.

Houston is where anyone who isn't from America should go to properly "experience" the USA. Nonexistent public transportation, impossible to move around without a car, main industry is oil refining, everyone looks disgusting, etc.

They are known for having very good hopsitals though, so if you get sick or injured on your trip, as (long as you're insured) you'll be in good hands. Houston is literally only good for subhuman raceless mongrels that like eating fast food, bloating up to 350+ pounds, and then going bankrupt due to medical debt so they can spend the rest of their lives draining society.

    >0/10 not even once. Never want to go back there again. Wouldn't even want to meet anyone from there because the possibility of having to entire houston is so appalling.

Everything about this post is accurate

      Sweat your ass off.

Even at 2am, Houston is 80+ outside with 100% humidity. It never cools down

      The Galleria is nice.

Was. Now it's mexicans and groids. The amenities are nice and that's where all the consulates are, but frick sake the people there are trash.

I am an hour drive from Houston and I make it a point to avoid that shithole.

No. It's overrun with Black folks. Every other advertisement has a Black model. Every other "shopper" is a Black. Every month there is a Black shooting somewhere near the galleria. do not go to the galleria.

The weather sucks in every single one of those cities. Even Austin. Austin is like SF for people who have never been to SF or have zero creativity so they can't get a job in SF.

Definitely. You have every combination of shit weather. Dallas probably the worst since it gets freezing cold and there's ice storms and shit that cripple the infrastructure for weeks. The shit that happened in February 2021 in the rest of TX is business as usual. Houston completely floods every now and then, causing widespread property damage and killing hundreds of their obese multiracial mutt people. Austin and San Antonio are similar, they just don't get as cold as Dallas or as wet as Houston, but they are noticeably humid and have brutal summers.

Austin also has a homeless problem, much like SF. There's also hundreds of those electric scooters-for-rent that are piled up on every street corner. There's also gay-pride multiracial soulless globohomosexual graffiti everywhere. Dystopian hellscape.

Haha. I just came back from SF which is a unique hellscape itself. I haven’t been to Austin in years but everyone says now it’s too crowded too expensive. I tell them it’s been like that since the 1990s. The good old days when it was its own unique thing, back in the 60s and 70s, is long gone. People in the 1990s would tell you it was the UT preppies or some BS like that which ruined Austin, but nowadays it’s the state gov inviting every corpo to the state with some new tax cut.

Houston, and Texas’, only redeeming value is that land is cheap (relative to east/west coast). Acres Home you can still find people raising and riding horses, just 15 minute drive from downtown Houston. East downtown is a wasteland of abandonment that seems to go through a revival phase every few years but then everyone remembers it’s a wasteland. I don’t get the obsession with the Heights. It close to downtown and museum district, but it’s just big houses with no yard. Pass. Hard pass. That might work in SF or NYC but not Houston.
