They're cheap flights with PAL but I've read some bad reviews and get anxious flying. Are they shit?
Air Asia is a lot cheaper but they look shit and I doubt they even fix their planes.

Also how shit is Manila airport
Manila airport just had a major systems outage a few days ago that pretty much shut it down for a whole day.
Probably the worst airport ive ever been in
I almost missed my flight because they took all our boarding passes and stuck us in a room to "check luggage" or some retarded shit. This was during covid but the entire place was so poorly designed
Worst clusterfuck I've ever been to and I travel full-time. Immigration is slow as shit and they like to chat with you and it's an embarrassment for a capital city that they're even still using the old domestic terminal.
Luckily I'm going to Cebu on their brand new airport
yeah you'll die
yes in fact there is a 100% chance you will die and there is nothing you can do about it.
The only airline I've ever flown that required weighing your carry-on backage. Most airlines just go by size when it comes to carry-ons, but these idiots weigh your bags too. This was a few years ago though.
You haven't flown alot then
You do know I am talking about carry-on luggage, and not check-in luggage, right? Fucking idiot. I fly international probably 5 to 6 times a year for both work and leisure, not even including the return flights. Philippine Airways is the only airline I've flown that has ever weighed my carry-on luggage. What shitty budget airlines do you fly on that are always checking the weight of your carry-ons? Every single airline goes by the size of your luggage for carry-on, what fucking difference does the weight of someone's carry-on back-pack make?
Point proven.
Point and laugh. This third worlder thinks his shitty, budget, local airlines are the world standard.
I flew Eva air last week and they weighed my carryon, is that a shitty, budget, local airline? You shouldn't talk with so much authority about things which you don't know.
Yes, MOST full service airlines are never going to weigh your carry on bags, but if you fly enough with basic economy tickets it will be bound to happen eventually.
I also fly alot more than 5-6 times internationally per year.
Ryanair in Norway weighed my bag as I was on my way to visit a friend in Poland.
I had to pay €40 after arguing for ten minutes because it was 0.7kg overweight and I was dealing with a 50-year old woman at the gate.
ryanair is a budget airline who is expected to weigh your bag though. you should have just kept taking clothes out of your bag and putting them on until u lost 0.7kg though
Not that anon but I just had my carry-ons weighed at SFO by LX and I'm flying longhaul J
This anon is right. Both carry-on and check-in luggage are weighed.
You must be some american mongoloid. Sorry about your retardation
A lot of places have weight restrictions for carry on baggage but hardly anyone gives a shit.
Philippine airlines are on the strict side simply cuz the Filipino people are of the «give an inch, take a mile» mindset. Last time I flew PAL people were bringing TVs and giant cardboard boxes full of shit for their families. They weren’t gonna let me bring my instrument on board «hard no on musical instruments in the cabin», but luckily the head stewardess walked by and said she’d take care of it.
Also, they wake you up at mealtime, don’t know if you want that or not
>be (You)
>sleeping
>flight stewardess comes up to you
>inhales to fill her lunges all the way up
>let it out extremely loudly
>WAKEY WAKEY gay FOODS READY
I wanna see this happen
Sad truth.
But overall PAL is pretty decent (compared to Air Asia or Cebu Pac).
Confirmed. Thread should have ended here.
Is this an asian thing? It has to be, asians try to take advantage of everything they can get away with. I can picture morons stuffing their carry ons full of dry rice or something so they don't have to buy food at their destination.
Poland is a 3rd world country, the point still stands.
You’ll be fine. It’s not as bad as you think.
As for Manila airport, it’s shit.
Pilot training is extremely consistent between airlines despite what people say. Especially if you are on a larger plane, you will not be able to tell a difference. the real problem with PAL is service, and this is always the difference between airlines, not pilots (more or less)
I thought PAL had pretty decent service, decent in flight meals, and they also have a very good safety record. The airlines that are not safe are like the pajeet airlines
they are good but they always cancel or delay the flight because they want to maximize capacity. Food is good and the only nonstop flight from LA/SF to the Philippines.
It’s not some low cost carrier shit like Air Asia, if that’s what you’re asking. Also, no business classes are shit, if you’re flying economy you deserve exactly what you get
Way safer than Korean Air
