just sleep when you feel like sleeping and make sure you spend some time outside in the sun and things will just return to normal gradually

modafinil, helps me stay awake long enough to go to bed at a normal time. One day where you don't sleep for 36 hours is better than 3 days of jet lag, both are a bit rough.

bought from an online pharmacy...the type that doesn't ask for a prescription but says you should have one in its terms and conditions

Step 1 is having meals at the correct times in your new time zone.

Especially dinner and breakfast will be a strong signal for your body and mind to adjust.

Then slowly you'll adjust at a rate of about 1-2 hours per day. Also be disciplined enough to wake up and actually get up after your alarm which should be set around 9-10 AM.

Force yourself to do all these things is the key.

what is your main reason for not switcing your clock?
for me - assuming no job schedule to force me awake - my biggest battle is not taking a nap midday that turns into 4+hours sleep.
i usually battle a day or two with energy drink stimulants, if i absoluelty cannot avoid a nap - i do not sleep in my bed, i sleep somewhere like couch where i will physically wake up regardless of how tired i am after 1-2 hours.
also if i make it to 8pm, sure try to stay up as long as possible from there, but if i break and go to bed - i try to force myself to sleep for as long s possible, but maybe its 2-3am i wake up and can't go back to bed - then this next day i spend trying to stimulate myself awake until 8pm. if i can get into 8pm to 4am pattern, it will naturlly shift

Stare at the sunrise and stare at the sunset.
    Avoid artificial light after sunset.
Low dose of melatonin (0,3-2mg) an hour before bed. Read a book.

Force yourself to walk around during the day even if you're tired. Don't sit on/in a bus, train, taxi, etc. or else you'll fall asleep. Then when it's night you should be tired and sleep easily. Keep doing that til you get your internal clock aligned with the actual time.

I usually just power through on the new schedule and the jetlag goes away after 1-2 days.

Dont be a pussy, stay up late local time your first couple nights to get a solid 8 -9 hours eg 11pm-7am or 12- 8 am and then you should be good.

Good meal and get to bed early regardless on Day 1. So what if I go to bed at 8PM, it's better to just burn one day up front from landing to have the rest of your trip not jet lagged to frick. Just wake up as close to 7-9AM as possible on the plane and keep yourself up somehow.

Don't care if it sounds boomer as shit, it works fine and seen myself save so much time compared to my friends fricking up day 1 of travel only for it to drag on over the next few days.

imagine not being on a every 20 hour 4 hours sleep cycle. You can almost always fall asleep after 8 hours of being up but don't need sleep until 20 hours. Works wonders but you need to have the naturally biorhythm for it.

They discontinued the good stuff. Until about a year ago you could get a prescription for 100mg secobarbital. A single pill would put you to sleep and reset your sleep schedule.

Idiots in Oregon were prescribing it for euthanasia which obviously didn't work because it was taken orally with like 40 pills so idiots threw it up and wound up in the ER still alive. The maker of it was like WTF and then they realized it wasn't worth the liability of keeping it around if brainlet doctors were prescribing literal lethal dosages.

Some pharmacies still have it in stock. You'll need to call like 50 of them. If you get it a 30 pill supply should last you 5 years or more depending on how frequently you travel. It was about $700 for 30 of them.

hold on one second. I was rx'd seconal 100mg caps by a dr. feelgood in AZ back in 2008. I was the ONLY person in the entire state prescribed it according to the pharmacy. They had to special order it from Marathon Pharma and it took like 2 weeks to get in. I had run the gamut of sleep pills from z-drugs to benzos to fricking chloral hydrate (you will get DT's from ultra raid tolerance to this in about 1 week btw). Nothing worked. We tried seconal. 1 capsule of red bullet looking death and 15 minutes later felt like I had just IV'd a gallon of rum. Woke up 3 days later. Keep in mind 9mg of Xanax wouldn't put me out.

      DO
      NOT
      EVER
      FRICK
      WITH
      BARBS

Theres a good reason they're discontinued. They're fricking dangerous as hell and as the ED50 goes up the LD50 remains the same. So you build tolerance and need more to fall asleep until the amount you need kills you too.

it is officially classified as a dietary supplement, not a drug. it's what flight attendants and pilots use when they need to sleep. you cannot abuse or overdose on melatonin. take 5mg or something 30 mins before you sleep.
