Tijuana is the same as it ever was really. Sure it's more expensive than the 'paradise' of the 2000s, but if you can bear to leave it, go a bit south and shit's cheap again. Rosarito really hasn't changed.

Baja California Mexican here, I am from Mexicali which is the New Jersey of the state and TJ is kind off like NYC , theres a lot of stuff to do but never the less its just a big city, I would reccomend going to Ensenada, its a port city with a lot of restaurants, fishing, nightclubs, La Bufadora, and a drive away to Valle de Guadalupe were all the Wineries are, if you are visiting Mexico just don't piss off the wrong person , a lot of cartel activity and dissaperances are common in our state now
