    Who visits every attraction?

I went to Washington DC last year. To visit all those I would imagine it would take well over a week, rushing through museums and racing through monuments and very careful planning, plus skipping meals. But you will get fatigued of visit museums and monuments after 2-3 days like a tourist robot doing what other tourist robots do and pretending to be cultured and caring about museum and attractions. Washington DC has some cool parks closeby I would recommend checking one or two out to break up the monotony of gawking at buildings, monuments and going to museums.

A shocking number of those museums require you to actually book a ticket in advance of your visit. I think the Spy Museum which I definitely wanted to visit fell under that category. I think the African American museum also did.

If you are not there with a car, I would recommend to rent the bikes they have, their equivalent of NYC's Citibike, I forgot what they call their network. There are stations near every major monument and it will save so much time compared to walking and so much money compared to cabs or renting a car.

You don’t need to visit every spot on that map, there are some major museums to hit, a tour of the Capitol, Arlington Cemetery, and some beautiful neighborhoods to visit, and you can do all that in a few days at a leisurely pace.

Sadly, some of the best parts of the DC area are not in the city proper (Glenstone Museum, Rockville and Falls Church asian food, etc), and the locally grown culture of the city is pretty inaccessible to tourists because it is meant for native Black DC residents.

Come to DC, do the generic things and knock them off your list, go out to bars in Adams Morgan (full of students), 14th Street (full of millennial professionals networking), U Street (very Black) or H Street NE (some neat spots, very black). But don’t try to dig too deep, the people who live here live to work, and they usually won’t give you the time of day unless you work in an advantageous field (or are Black).

Dc native here. The vast majority of the things on that list are shit. Spend two or three day checking out the memorials and couple museums that interest you and then get away from the Mall.
