I quit my job to bike across America

I'm riding a small motorcycle across the Trans America Trail on the 15th (heading east to NC from where I live first then all the way West). I have like $3k to my name and I don't know what I'm doing. It's dawning on me that I'm completely clueless to any of this.

I'm moronic, bros. What am I doing...

Not a larp. Here's the bike. I just reached a point where I feel like I haven't lived at all so I wanted to do something (will be 32 on the 19th). I've only been riding bikes since May too so is extra stupid (got my endorsement in late June).

DUMBASS that's pretty frickin' cool. here's a tip; if you need a shower you can go to truck stops. if you're nice you can ask a trucker for a free shower, otherwise you gotta pay and they're like 15 bucks, but lots of company drivers get showers free cause you get one free shower with 50 gallons of fuel. and this is just me but I wouldn't take interstates cause a lot of them do not permit bicyclists or other types of non vehicular travel and cops will absolutely frick with you about it.

also watch out for the demons that lurk in seemingly abandoned small town america, they exist in abundance in the midwest.

Good tip about the showers, anon. I will use this. I'm very afraid I'll stink like shit for much of the trip but what can I do. I'm also concerned about changing tires or if the tube goes flat or something. I have no plans to use the freeway either because my bike only goes 55 top speed. Back country roads and trails the whole way from North Carolina to Oregon is the goal

        >55 top speed
I'm assuming that the tank doesn't hold much either does it?.
Buy a bike that goes at least 90 dude. You won't be getting anywhere with that shit tbh.
Also trails are asking for an accident on that thing.
Good luck thinking about traveling the trans Americana too one day..
Would like info on how to proceed without getting killed and looking for shelter to sleep the night.

          >I'm assuming that the tank doesn't hold much either does it?.
No but it gets 110mpg so over 150 on a tank. I'm not worried about speed either. Going slow forces me to absorb the country as much as I can. Also, I'm jobless now lol so I'm not pressured by time, but yeah, the trails can be dangerous even for a trail bike. It's worth trying though.

And yeah, any and all advice is appreciated for these kinds of expeditions. Will be very useful

No that thing is going to get like 80 after your bags and ass are on it. The MPG of these bikes and the one "you have" are often rated MPG for something like people 110-120lbs. Meaning if you have a bag on you+shit, you're probably going to be realistically 160-180 on it. That's going to take the MPG down on these things, before you are hitting 55MPH which again you lose fuel efficient.

            >Going slow forces me to absorb the country as much as I can.
No this FORCES you onto country roads/farm roads where you'll need to carry a extra can of gas illegal in some states.

            >Also, I'm jobless now lol so I'm not pressured by time, but yeah, the trails can be dangerous even for a trail bike.
The bike you have is not suited at all for off road bike trails. It's meant to take a gravel road that's heavily solid or an occasional pot hole. Anything more you're not only going to lose control, but gas mileage as well.

            >It's worth trying though.
If getting to the appilacha and realizing your bike will be crawling at 35mpg so you're forced to head by the gulf of mexico to avoid hills, only to find out storms frick you, then get to texas and realize gas stations can be +100 miles apart, then get to elpaso and realize you can't cross the lower grade hill of the rockies, and out of cash needing to sell the bike to get home. Sure. Worth trying.

            3K is simply not enough,
your bike is not good enough,
you are obviously not experienced enough,
you are doing this at the wrong time of year,
This is the best way to lose your bike and cash when you could just go get another job save up and roll.

By all means, take this to >>>SighSee but enjoy getting called a troll if this isn't just some copypasta already.

Living life is for boomers. Youre the generation that gets to die in ww3. That is if you dont starve to death.

This is doable, in that my childhood friend did a trip through the USA on a moped. In July I did 10 hours with a few stops on an air-cooled 98 cc. It's not the bike, or the road, but the rider that makes the journey.

Provide the route then, because a moped is going to choke out on the rockies and most mountains in in western NC. OP has to stick to rural roads, and avoid high grade.

Lots of luck with the cost of everything now but hey it is a small price to pay to stick it to Putin.

The bike looks pretty good and clean, did you buy it new?

Also I hope you are nice. Otherwise you should haven't gone with a Honda.
