I'm depressed in Rome. What do?

I've been solo traveling the Schengen countries and they've all been amazing. But Rome is not good. I can't meet anyone (got no matches on dating apps even tho I've done great everywhere else), everyone here is trying to scam or rob me, and there's just no fun to be had. I feel isolated and alone here.

Besides obvious stuff like Sistine chapel etc, what fun things can I do here? I might rent a mountain bike and find a cool trail.

It sounds like the problem is you and your definition of what's entertaining.

Go on pub crawls, there must be a ton of them in a city as important as Rome. Meet some young sluts on Erasmus. You can look online for them, or on the bulletin boards of hostels and bars and hip cafes and such. Language exchanges are also full of lonely young-ish people.

i think some euro cultures are more willing to date older more frequently than others
but really its a numbers game.. SOME will be willing
also if they are a girl on study abroad or local but wanting to meet english speakers then you have an in. of course girls visiting italy will be into italian guys but if they get burned or annoyed by one they might miss a non-italian guy. or they may be from a lower standing country like turkey or something
or near wall roastie study abroad doing a masters or whatever

People in Europe enter undergrad any time during their 20's. Some do it the age Americans usually do, 18-22, others start in their mid-20's. There might be girls doing their masters about to be in their 30's. And Euro girls aren't as weird as American ones when it comes to age gaps.

The bottom line is, the dating scene is just better. You're an American abroad in Italy. The local girls know you have some money, which is more than they can say for the guys up there. Walk with your head up high. No need to feel like a beaten dog. The dating scene is superior to America in every way. You see beautiful women walking around with ok-looking manlets all the time.

They also know that you have a pitiful mutilated dick with a israelite scar on it, and they know that you will not sexually please them.

Good point about the manlets. I was shocked how short everyone was. I'm not that tall (six foot), and was taller than almost every Italian male I saw for the whole trip.
