I'm going to 'stanbul over the Spring Break, anything I should know before heading there?
I've heard the pickpocketing is bad but I somehow doubt it's much worse than some spots in Italy, turks seem like nicer people compared to Arabs and Indians.

It’s Istanbul not Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works?
Thats nobodies business but the tuuuuuuurks
Do not pick up the brush.
take lube, they love gay foreigners
I frickin loved it when I was there, but that was in 2013 and 2014. Damn, I'm getting old.
It's practically nothing like the rest of Turkey but it is a world class city with 20m people and practically any activity you'd like to do. Just don't fall for any street scams or buy an Istanbulkart from anyone/thing except the machines at train stations.
The cooming is good too.
Really? I was thinking to make my foray into Asia after trying hard mode in South America. Im a history teacher so turkey has a lot of stuff for me to do..
The only thing I don't see frequently enough in Istanbul travel guides is a breakdown of Turkish food. If you know about history anyway, you probably already know about all the interesting architecture and whatever you need to see in Istanbul. Do read up on the cuisine a bit (google helps). So that you avoid eating pide and potatoes every day.
Lots of stray dogs, especially if you wander around in the morning or want to look at the city walls.
Turkey is great except for all the Turks
in Istanbul you can get everything
go down to the Bosphorus and get a cheap fish sandwich, definitely go into the blue mosque and hagia sophia and cisterns, coffee shop with a view and good cakes at topkapi.... just tons of tourist stuff
How's the cooming in Istanbul, does Tinder work well?
