Four days to visit those two islands is ridiculously short, which leads me to think you're a complete moron and/or you just want to have more cheap bragging points ("yay, two more countries visited, my facebook friends will be very impressed")

Not everyone wants to sit down and stuff their face with overpriced guido and wine or learn the boring history. I suggest do minimal planning outside your first nights stay. Hop from hotel to hotel each night on different corners of the island. Avoid drinking / drugs so you can wake up early. Don't sleep in.

For some reason this board is like this, where if you don't spend at least 3 months in each city you're doing it wrong. It must be all neets and crypto losers with unlimited time.

You don't HAVE to see everything. Find one thing you absolutely want to do in each city. That said, I would try to do just one island in 4 days but maybe Palermo-Agrigento-Valetta would be an enjoyable itinerary. I don't think you have enough time to visit Mt. Etna.

The ferry to Malta is like 2 hours so it shouldn't eat up that much of your day.

is right. You're just wasting your time, that doesn't sound enjoyable at all. Fly in and waste a lot of a day at the airport, next day full day to just see Valletta and walk around that area, next day go to the airport and sit and wait for you flight, get to Sicily and then spend that day getting from the airport and checked in, next day walk around Palermo or where ever the frick you're flying to, next day back to the airport and leave. Why bother.

It just so happens that I don't have more days of vacation this year. Anyhow I'll try to travel like tuesday night and return sunday as late as possible. Also I'm somewhat nearby so won't spend that much time in the plane

Cheers. I was thinking maybe Catania instead of Palermo and thus visit Mt. Etna. Perhaps renting a car to go to Agrigento and leaving it in Licata to take the ferry. But I really need to check the schedules to make it work

Sheeeit, you might as well just go to Palma de Mallorca and chill out there for a few days

Just checked and oops it seems like there isn't a ferry from Licata. Perhaps I'll skip Agrigento 🙁

Taking a ferry will blow a lot of time. Just take a 15€ Ryanair flight if you're dead set on doing both.

I'd take the ferry even if the Ryanair flight was free.

If I were you, I'd spend one day in Palermo, then 3 or more days in an actually good city like London or Brussels. Try it out some time.

Both are extremely touristic. Not touristic parts in sicily are ugly
