I’m speaking here as someone who has spent a LOT of time in BCN, my girlfriend lives there so I’m there very regularly.
Like any major city, a lot of the VERY central parts of the city cater almost exclusively to tourists. Stupidly inflated prices for food and drinks, lower quality, so on and so fourth. Hotels are the same (when booked with short notice)
Outside of that, it’s an amazing city with amazing finds all over. Is it more expensive than smaller Spanish cities? For sure. Can it be avoided? Definitely.
Do your homework of where you want to visit and plan things in advance. It’s that simple.
Gushed. I had the exact. same. experience. Are you me?? lol! I absolutely looove BClona. So many hidden gems around every corner and full of such diversity and vibrance...defs going back.

I recommend renting motorcycles and riding north through the mountains on routes like BV-5301. There's also a big national park there with a damage and reservoir with natural scenic places everywhere there. I want to go back and go further north in the range the separates Spain and France, I think its the Pyrenees? For monuments and such I enjoyed Grenada and Seville more than Barcelona, but I think if you want to party at night and coom Barcelona is the place to be. Mallorca was a tourist trap, I wish I didn't waste my time on that island.
Las Ramblas and LA Sagrada de Familia are but overall I enjoyed my stay in Barcelona. Granted I haven't visited Catalonia since 2014 so I assume things have gotten worse.
I was there a few months ago, it's still fantastic. God I miss nights in Raval, going on dates with random bawds, hitting up bars with bongs from my hotels
Went there last month.
Honestly depends on what you want. If you are looking for cool shit to see like churches and history literally go anywhere else in Spain, the sites are all tourist traps and Gaudi is the most overrated architect. I have shit on it all previous threads but if you are young and want to party its great. Over 28 and its honestly a typical globohomosexual city with a beach that is grimy and dirty
Absolutely worth visiting.

We don’t know what you like or dislike
A place having illegal immigrants and gypsies trying to hustle tourists doesn’t make it a tourist trap by default
Went there last month.
