is france the most overrated travel destination

there is honestly nothing to see there.
Why do people even fly to this country in the first place?
food isnt anything special unlike what surrender monkeys claim, they have no scenery, no culture, nothing making your trip worthwhile especially when italy and spain are right next door.
Also their crime is worse than latam, they have scammers tryong to sell you trinkets and ganging up on you, hordes of nafri muggers, litteral terrorists...

I would say it is the most overrated. Try and remember that being overrated does not mean it’s terrible or even not good. It means it’s rated higher than it actually is. France is considered like the top or top 3 destinations by a ton of people, and I don’t think it’s that. A lot of this is due to the fact it USED to be that good, but isn’t anymore. Paris is now kind of a dump, it used to be great. Many of the places that were awesome because they were “untouched” are now flooded with tourists. Still a great country for tourism generally speaking but equal to tons of other places in Europe. There are also places that are in fact cheaper and just as good. If it continues its downward spiral it will be in the bottom half of Europe destinations before 2030, but you still hear people talk like it’s still top tier. So yes quite overrated

Maybe because when people think about France they only think about Paris. Paris may be overrated but it's still undeniably an exceptional city. Some of the best museums in the world, architectural beauty, and in some places you can still sort of imagine the Paris of the 1930s/1950s.
The rest of France offers a lot of variety. High mountains, Atlantic thin sand beaches, Mediterranean sea, alabaster cliffs, hilly countryside dotted by medieval castles and prehistoric caves. Diversity in food because of all the different climates in the country.

Yep you imagine Paris in the 50's and then you want to have a nice day after seeing women in a burka pushing a stroller reminding you of the present and future.

This. I still liked Paris on my visit, albeit I went during the low season. Some of my best memories are travelling through Provence and parts of Occitan by hitchhiking. France is an incredibly beautiful country and there are many beautiful cities beyond Paris. OP is a schizoid though, so this thread should be nuked for shutting up space.

The food is good if you aren't getting it from some Paki in the Latin quarter or something.
The small towns are best by far, only true French left are there.
