I got fired from my megacorp blue collar job because I developed severe rheumatoid arthritis and I was trying to last a month while in incredible pain to qualify for FMLA. They found me passed out on the floor and when I explained everything and showed them doctors notes they still accused me of being on drugs and fired me without even drug testing me. I should’ve been smoking weed that whole time like a Black person.

I've been at my company for 6 years and still only get 2 weeks of vacation, 1 week of personal leave, and 3 sick days every year. I get my 3rd week of vacation on my 7th year. Except the company hired me on March 5th, and the vacation doesn't apply until the beginning of the calendar year. So I'll go 9 months without an extra week of vacation that I have earned.

Asking for vacation time off is always a passive aggressive encounter in amerihell because there is always this tension that your boss might hold a grudge if you ask too often for the time the rules say you can take off. Just because tithe company says you have those weeks off, better not chance cashing in all of it, don’t want to inconvenience your boss and invite retaliation down the line….

          >I don't care about 95% of society, just about a tiny portion of people in some niche based on an arbitrary standard
Cool moron. Get of the politics board and jerk yourself off to the dailywire or something.

Vacation is not guaranteed by the government, it is between you and your employer. You have the choice to be a wage slaving cuckold who has to beg for his vacation allowance, or you can get a real job with real benefits. I accrue 6 weeks of PTO. I also have paid paternity leave of 1 month, and as it just so happens my wife and I are trying to stop the white race from going extinct, so I've used it three times now and fingers crossed but it looks like I'll be using it again early next year too, hopefully one or two more times again after that.

If we lived in a culturally, ethnically, and racially homogeneous society then I would support all of the nice social programs Europeans take for granted. We however are not that. We have competing ideas and interests between the dwindling number of actual white people in this country with defined western values, the mutts, Black folk, spics, asiatics, mudslimes, etc. none of whom value things the same way. Non-white societies are low trust and corrupt for a reason, you think I want to be subsidizing the vacation plans of Jamal and D'Qwonn or Mohammed or Ching-Chang Li?

          >If we lived in a culturally, ethnically, and racially homogeneous society then I would support all of the nice social programs Europeans take for granted
It's not a social program, it's a "don't frick over your workers" rule.
          Jamal and Daquan AREN'T WORKERS.
Those increased corporate profits aren't going to be saving the white race, they'll be lobbying for migrants, censoring opposition, and pushing DEI programs.
The corporate class is in active opposition to the White race, why would you side with them?

          >you can get a real job with real benefits
Yes, every White man just needs to get those 2% of jobs that qualify as "real".
Nevermind that most of the jobs that actually give decent benefits and vacation days are the bullshitiest jobs out there.
Because those companies really don't care if Laquisha the diversity coordinator shows up, she's just on payroll to check a box.

Here where I live, there are no less than 28 vaccation days in a year. Exlcuded weekends and national holidays. So if during your vaccation are one or more national holidays, then lenght of it gets "prolonged".

You can split that time in several junks, but one of those cannot be shorter than 14 days. So usually those are either 2 weeks in summer, and then rest are for week long ones during other seasons.

Such system likely is to see how "replacable" person is. And also, to reduce risk that some weirdo goes on some destructive rampage.

We have a lot of shitty things here, but vacation system is kinda nice one.

Some countries do have laws like that so I'm not surprised. Over here we don't have such hard requirement but we do have the right to have 4 weeks connected vacations during the summer months, and it's expected that we take it.

One year I had 4 of my 14 days of vacation eaten up by a hurricane because were required to use paid time off for natural disasters and 5 days off because I got the flu and we use paid time off for illness, so that gave me 6 days which I used at the end of the year because vacation days don’t roll over to the next year, it’s a “use it or lose it” policy. I had to space the days out because bossman said “You can’t take that many days off in a row, we can’t get coverage for that long”. I ended up just staying home because in America you’re expected to “check in” and respond to emails and stuff for 15-30 minutes a day, and if it’s an “emergency” you need to be able to respond at a moment’s notice. You never really have true time off.

What he's saying is possible but very rare. I heard other stories like these but never experienced it or known someone who experienced it.
Regarding using vacation days in lieu of sick leave, that's usually because sick leave is unpaid while vacation leave is paid, so people prefer to start by using their vacation days while sick.

      That's not true.
There's tons of morons who will pile on to tell you that that the CEO is just a fountain of wisdom and deserves every penny.
Even while his company goes bankrupt and he takes millions in executive compensation.
The plebs were just lazy and entitled. Probably the minimum wage being too high or something like that.

You don't actually have the ability to keep what you earn in the US, it's a massive illusion because you get nickel and dimed left and right so that in the end you have about the same "tax" overall (by "tax" I mean all required expenses that are simply not a thing in the EU, not just because of things like healthcare which is not that high a cost if you're employed in the US, but mandatory savings so you don't go homeless and bankrupt if your employer lays you off tomorrow, mandatory car ownership-associated costs because you can't even get to your job without a car, quality of life costs because everything around you is least-effort and it costs a lot to upgrade your life conditions, tip culture, "hidden" taxes (rather than in-built in the sticker price as in the EU), significantly higher child rearing costs, etc).

You gain 2 things from being in the US:
      - More international dollars after all expenses (debatable, you can do better in the EU depending on the entire set of circumstances, but as a rule of thumb it remains true). Note that this is typically less local dollars, i.e. if you divide by local cost of living, just the exchange rate is better.
      - MUCH better access to entrepreneurship resources. This includes networking, funding, coaching, and laws that make your endeavors much easier (however, this mostly applies to "serial entrepreneur" bullshit "entrepreneurship", making a "real" company works about as well in the EU, in large parts because your HQ need not be in your country of residence, etc.)

    >Is it true Americans only get 2 weeks of vacation?
Not mandated by the government, no. Every salaried job I've ever had offers at least 3 weeks' of PTO/year. I have like 300 hours banked that will never expire, and every month I get an additional 13 hours that I get paid out for if I don't take them.
I've never understood why people think things don't exist in the US just because the federal government doesn't mandate it for the entire population

its job dependent - usually with white collar mid-high level jobs having the best. i know a guy who takes a week off every month, hes in middle management at a tech firm. I personally have about 4 weeks vacation and 5 weeks sick per year (although i dont choose to take most my time off).
majority of what you hear on the internet are low level people who have shitty jobs/lives - waiters for example. If you get a stem degree and make it to a decent firm the benefits+salary are unbeatable.

It depends on your company. The average for most professional positions is to start at 10 days and eventually grow up to 30 with seniority as well as get certain holidays off as well. Legally, there are no mandated days off, but that's because Black folk would abuse them by getting a minimum wage job, never show up for work, spend the time off, and get a paycheck before quitting and doing it again.

That's a moronic excuse. Other countries do not have this problem. There are many potential systems for this: even in real jobs with real vacations in the US, pro-rata vacation days are the most common system so that meme wouldn't even work. Otherwise you can have "loaned forward-vacation days" as is common in sweden: you get your days for the first year "loaned" over the next 5 years and must repay the company for the days you took pro-rata on how long you worked for them in the next 5 years if you quit before that mark. Alternatively you can get 0 vacation days until the first year ends, at which point vacation days are available yearly. All these systems prevent the meme shit you mention.
This is just americope like usual.
Also, the seniority days are a meme because you can't get seniority without sacrificing your income growth (not a few % points, talking 2-3x difference at end of career) so in practice you'll never have more than 2-3 years of exp unless you like being poor and a slave to your company for a billion years (of course, they can fire you for any reason at any time any day, unlike in europe)

        Anonymous

Your ancestors weren't cheap Black folk trying to min/max cash crop profit when it came towards the practice of slavery.
That's where our modern problems snowball from.

People job hop in their 20s, but by your 30s you usually settle down into one job and work it long enough to get seniority. Eventually you reach the point you're making enough money to support your lifestyle and the allure of more pay isn't worth the hassle of job searching and learning a new job. Plus time off becomes more valuable once you actually have money and a family to spend it on. I didn't need days off when I was in my 20s. Now that I'm almost 40 and have kids time off is a lot more valuable to me.

You don't get a paid vacation the first year here, because it's 10.2 % of the last years salary that you get in holiday money.

          Anonymous

Here it depends on the company. It can either be like you say or it can also be 'loan forward'. In some other EU countries like France, it's simple pro-rata.

      >The average for most professional positions is to start at 10 days
"Professional" meaning about 20% of jobs
      >eventually grow up to 30 with seniority as well as get certain holidays off as well.
30 MIGHT be in the top 1%.
20 is the HIGHEST a normal person can meaningfully hope for.
But you'll likely max out at 15 in most jobs.

Of course there' the "unlimited PTO" bullshit that companies "offer" which often ends up being even less than 10.

      >Legally, there are no mandated days off
Correct, with a few state exceptions, but they're also meaninglessly low.

      >but that's because Black folk would abuse them by getting a minimum wage job, never show up for work, spend the time off, and get a paycheck before quitting and doing it again.
      Absolute nonsense.
You don't get any PTO until a certain amount of working. This just isn't a thing that happens.
I have a hard time believing you've actually worked a job.

Job hopping is a thing because corporatocracy decided there's enough employees mild mannered enough to accept yearly pay cuts that raises stay below inflation.
So job hopping is the only way to get a raise for most people.
