I was stationed in Japan for four years in Sasebo, which is about halfway between Fukuoka and Nagasaki on the island of Kyushu. Can give you a rough rundown on my takeaways that stick out in my mind about Japan although it may not directly relate to what you're asking.
    >Pros
Meme answer but I really enjoyed the food. I'm not a huge fan of seafood but I came to at least appreciate it in all its forms while here. There's a lot of good restaurants and places that one can just kind of stumble across. The best places were ones I didn't even seek out, just walked past and peeked my head in and got a table. There's a lot of cool stuff to see, especially in Nagasaki, Kagoshima, and Fukuoka. I didn't go to Tokyo or anything like that, but Osaka was fun. If you like night-life, I guess Fukuoka was alright. I have more but I can elaborate elsewhere
    >Cons
I found Japanese people very boring, plain, and mundane people but extremely arrogant and annoying polite. Hard to really put it into words, but they're a very irritating people when it's not just simple transaction. Everything here has this certain feeling of dreariness and soullessness. A part of me wants to almost say that this country never really seemed to progress past the 90s, and it's stuck in like a stasis from that time. But I don't know, I wasn't around then.

For your purposes, since you seem like a tradlarper, Japanese women are incredibly boring and most of the ones you're going to meet who are going to be interested in you as a foreigner are literal trash, who just want to ape Western culture and you're part of their aesthetic as their foreign boyfriend. There are gems, I've seen it with guys I served with, but most of the non-trash women aren't going to really associate with foreigners.

I prefer red meat food, seeing how shit is fish this days because parasites and mercury levels, I'm gonna reserve my mediterranean diet.
        >Japanese women are incredibly boring
Meme answer too, I don't need a woman with to much hyperactivity, just one that loves and respect me.

They have that there too, but a lot of the food is seafood-based, at least where I was. It might be different more inland or on another island. I'm not really that familiar with the others.
        >Meme answer too, I don't need a woman with to much hyperactivity, just one that loves and respect me.
It's not that they're not hyperactive or anything but I personally found them to be very superficial. It might be a personal thing, so take it as you will. The guys I knew who got married to Japanese women are still married to them, so there's that. But I wouldn't go to Japan expecting to find your tradfu. It's just not really feasible to bank on that.
        >Can you elaborate it? How they act?
I found them to be a very arrogant people who have a worse superiority complex than Europeans. Very ignorant, and proud of that kind of ignorance. A girl I was seeing on-and-off swore up and down that Japan was the only country with four seasons, and wouldn't even consider that I come from somewhere with four seasons because I must be mistaken, you don't understand, Japan is...and so forth. But my feelings on the Japanese are my own, and I'm not trying to give you a totally wrong impression. They are superficially nice, and if you're not really looking for any deep connection but just a fun time they are fine for that.

How easy is it to cook in Japan?
And from chat I heard the four season thing is a very common belief in Japan, they're an insular people so it isn't surprising they would be ignorant of other countries. I've met French people who have never travelled outside France but still think France is the best country in the world, french food is the best,Paris is the most beautiful city in the world, and that everyone envy them..

There's no such thing as Mediterranean diet if you have lived in Mediterranean. It's funny that it's only Anglos and Germans who go on about it. Meanwhile half of Spaniard dishes are based around potatoes and pork. And if you mean food they eat by the coast, it's definitely loaded with fish. Swordish, tuna, sardines, octupus, clams, wienerles, etc.

That's only for countries with public retirement funds where the young pay for the retirement of the old, not for countries with privatised retirement funds.
Also boomers are way richer than millenials or zoomers, as they kept all the wealth for themselves, kept the wages of their employees (the generation after them) low, are the main landowners and so on.

With fewer children/siblings, you also have smaller extended families and fewer friends. Over generations, that means you can't rely on family and have to pay strangers for favors like babysitting, getting a ride to the airport, etc.

I'll add that the actual bastions are already available in the West. Rural land is cheap. In many Western EU countries there's incentives by government to populate rural towns (1€ houses, etc.) and promote agriculture. In US it must be even cheaper. You can wageslave with a crappy job and earn enough for some rural house and land. You can find women who just want to be boring housewives even still. Except all of this would actually involve doing something besides writing up pipe stories of moving to Japan, an incredibly xenophobic and conservative nation that doesn't want you, as an immigrant. Jesus Christ what went so wrong that you've become such a delusional loser and a quitter?

I'd add you can probably already buy something with five years wageslavery. Start with a shitter job, get some qualification (imagine actually researching a niche or an opportunity, I know it's too much for most larpers already) to earn more one or two years after. Get a driving license. Research property market in rural places. What can you do with that land and how you could support yourself after. What will you do with internet, sewage, etc. Meanwhile find an autistic woman and marry her. Five years. It's not that much. Could be even less if you already got savings and a job that doesn't pay peanuts.

        >In US it must be even cheaper.
getting large plots of land and getting loans is prob cheaper but I've never heard of giving homes/land away for that cheap. if you make under 80K you're eligible for a USDA loan which lets you get a rural house for 0 down, so less than 1K after closing costs and fees. After that the problem becomes finding an income in those areas, farming isn't going to be enough to provide for your family. Remote work and starlink has made things much simpler though.

Easier said than done but on my list. The problem is that most autistic women around here are pretty academic/career focused

I'm not like OP or anything like that, but I've found women and dated women who just wanted a house somewhere rural with chickens and quiet and peace. It's definitely possible. Although, you got to remember, like attracts like, it doesn't surprise me complete losers who fetishize going to Japan as some sort of a bastion for 'West' (lmao what) can't find shit. But yeah, probably a mildly autistic woman would be great for this sort of a thing.

That's really cool, I had no idea you could get that. In Italy they were giving houses for 1€, but on condition you'd renovate it in five places and would actually live there. So in reality the expenses are more than that, but some people still took advantage of that. My friend lives up in a remote village in Italian mountains. There's a 2h walk from there to a small village with maybe one or two people permanently living there. You can live there for free, but you can't own the place since it's park property. If anyone was inclined to be a monk, they could do that. It's possible to hunt and fish, obviously with some paperwork done. You could grind down chestnut flour and have some goats for milk. At least that's what people did there back in the day. Tb h there's many options out there for people who want to unplug from most of the society, but surprise surprise it's all just larpers who haven't ever done shit in their entire life and never will.

You're pretty much spot on, except your last sentence.
Japan doesn't really allow foreigners who are a drain on their lean welfare system, hence any foreigner by definition has to be self-sufficient.

I wasn't trying to imply being on welfare, although I get how I could have gotten across from the comparison. My point is that no matter how well integrated they can become, they will never truly be Japanese. A mere glance is enough to tell they weren't born there and at best are just there to work for a few years. A few years, right? Even a child knows this, never mind an adult. There's very few countries which are truly multicultural, but even then I imagine most people subconsciously see them as foreign. And I'm talking about states that love immigration like US, Canada, UK, et al. It's beyond me why /misc/oid types worship Japan as a great place to emigrate to t b h.

By 'them' I mean whichever group which is fundamentally different from the original populations. Even in US I think people would view MENA immigrants as more foreign than Mexicans, and both of them as more foreign than WASP, natives or African-Americans.

The fact that Japs hate everyone (whites included--sometimes) makes them based. They're still Uncle Toms (Uncle Toshis?) when it comes to whites for the things they let whites get away with there, but ultimately will go full yellow rage if need be.

Then again, they are encouraging immigrants to move to their rural prefectures so things are changing maybe?
