depends on where you are, but generally black south africans are hung over apartheid and will be for the next 500+ years

they hate you because they got their shit pushed in and are not (and will not be) as successful as you

Maybe the government. The ordinary guy in the street not so much.

if he knows he can make money out of you then he will
tourists will hardly interact with any ordinary guy in the streets anyhow as they will be sticking to typical touristy spots and areas
if anything thats where the scammers will showup, but these are common worldwide and not exclusive to south africa. By now most people will have enough common sense to avoid such pilfers

it's hugely dependent on location and the good parts and bad parts can be right next to each other
i worked for a bit in sandton- rich suburb of jo'burg- of course everywhere has high security etc but i never had a single problem all the time i was there, even when i walked around by myself late at night. maybe because i'm a fairly broad shouldered chap or maybe because i generally dress pretty scruffy so i don't look like i have anything worth nicking anyway, who knows
while i was staying there i knew someone who worked in a less well off area and he went to work in an armoured humvee

South African here, it's really not so bad. Stay out of bad areas and you will be fine.

I'm not even gonna get into politics as it's all sorts of complicated. Don't move here, lol

That's rhodesia/zimbabwe. Nah bro this continent doesn't need another reason to hate white people again. We got our problems but things were not better 60 years ago.

How is the booze and women?

Below average honestly, there are better destinations in the world. Not bad but not terrible. I recommend Namibia for beer as that's where a lot of Germans went to. I'd say if you're insistent on going to SA I would stay around Cape Town

Are White Afrikaner women really top-tier? Many Europeans have told me that to my face when I lived there.

Whoever told you that is wrong, they're very average. Afrikaners are generally fairly tall and lanky, very skinny not in a good way, very bony

My mate saw someone get murdered in Cape Town, everyone there the blacks hate you and will target you like they target farmers and get away with it, just the last place I'd go. I feel really sorry for those that haven't left.

Another Saffa, I have been a victim of violent crime but that was due to my own stupidity. Generally speaking if you avoid dodgy situations you will be fine, I work as a consultant so I drive around the whole time and sometimes it includes the location/townships. But if you dont flash your cash and dont look scared you should be fine. Like if the bergies/vagrants walk up to me and ask for something I tell them to piss off a mate of mine tried to be nice to one and he persisted for two blocks until I couldnt take it anymore and told him to piss off. If you are a foreigner and in Cape Town a firm no and no further engagement should suffice with the bergies/vagrants.
I think the most "crime" against whites at the moment are those bicycle arseholes who cycle by themselves at 05:00 with a R50k bike and then the kaffers rob them. It is controversial and I'm not a farm murder denier but most famr murders are actually kaffer on kaffer killings in rural settings. But obviously the media would say all rural murders are farm murders because race and murder stats aren't released because the kaffers know that it would make them look like savages. Anyways our pretty girls I would say are as good as any but we do have 4l women as well, sadly more than I would like.

what is life like then in terms of daily life and socialising?

Was with gf so didn’t socialize a huge ton.
Capetonians are very cliqueish and insular it’s like South African San Francisco or Melbourne that’s the vibe
But daily life is amazing, it’s a super active city with amazing weather. Loved taking cheap Ubers around the city and balling out at the fancy Australian style cafes. Woolworths is ubiquitous and it’s like their Whole Foods. Cape Town has a very healthy, liberal almost granola type vibe

Joburg on the other hand is home to the black middle class so they’re more obsessed with displays of wealth, Sandton is a little bit tacky imo. Pretoria is nice in some parts but downright scary in others. Midrand area is full of weird crocodile dundee redneck afrikaners Cape Town isn’t scary at all, never went too far out into the flats though. Woodstock and observatory like a shithole but they’re actually safe

That’s just what I heard. I didn’t really make an effort to make friends since I was remotely working and hanging out with gf

            Anonymous

No they dont ignore you, they just wont really form close friendships with "outsiders" its weird as I've been in Cpt for 7 years and besides my family my friends are all people who arent from Cpt. Like they have their 4 close friends and arent really keen on making more. Whereas in Bloem you'd be invited to a braai, meet 10 people there, get invited to another braai (one of the 10) and then before you know it you are inviting those 10 people who you didnt know 10 months before.
But Bloem has really fallen apart - I went visiting my parents for Christmas and the municipal lawns weren't cut, potholes everywhere and the refuge collectors were striking so refuge on every street corner. Which is a terrible shame as you could make a real nice life in Bloem provided you work for yourself or you have a proper profession.
