Your pic related answers your question. I've lived in Mexico City for 8 months, worst thing that happened was a milf made me cum inside her by wrapping her legs around me.

How common is that in Peru, Venezuela and Colombia? Mexican women like White boys.

Been thinking about going to Mexico City. Are the bad parts immediately recognizable to a foreigner? Is there enough to do for a few months/nightlife? It seems like the best trip for cheap but not completely boring. 150 one way ticket. Was considering going to Peru from there.

No. I don’t know why this question comes up. Latino culture is this weird infantile, goofy culture with music that sounds comical, food that is actually pretty fricking bland and unremarkable, and of course a blood-lust, aztec, and extremely vicious and primitive disregard for the value of human life.

I don’t understand why any white person would go there. The upsides are gravely outweighed by the downsides. Just go to fricking SEA and give it a rest. Just go to pattaya and pull up at the patio seating of the bar

You can still walk around the US at night if you're white and have your phone out in public. What makes SA dangerous is that you may become a target for the thugs just because you stand out as a tourist. Professionals will track you down to your hotel too.

I have banking in these countries and an recommend. LATAM is safe, just avoid dangerous neighborhoods, there are maps. Also prepare to pay bribes. In Panama, they have official pricing list for bribes too, do not over pay!

I'm going to take a couple weeks to go to South America next month. I'm pretty sure I want to do Peru since I imagine anything farther south will likely be too cold. Is there anything special in Ecuador that I couldn't experience in Peru, aside from the Galapagos?

Old colonial architecture, Machu Picchu, and nature, mainly. I know basically nothing about the country, so I'm sure there's more

Cusco seems alright. Lima seems fairly unremarkable and too much car traffic. I remember looking into Machu picchu a while back and you have to book way out. You need and international license to drive in Peru?

Argentina and Uruguay are very gritty.

Quito is about on the level of the second-tier Peruvian cities Trujilo and Arequipa, maybe a little more interesting architecturally but not as interesting culturally or anywhere near as good culinary (but be aware most of the hostels in Peru don't have kitchens because eating out is so ubiquitous, so the spend is higher in Peru). Lima on the other hand is on another level entirely and Cusco is legitimately the best city for travellers on the whole continent.

Aside from the Galapagos I'm not sure anything in Ecuador beats the Cordilleras or Peruvian Amazonia. Maybe the area around Cotopaxi would be better than Puerto Maldonado and on the level of the Santa Cruz, but I think the Santa Cruz is going to beat any of those treks and the Iquitos side of the Peruvian Amazon is the best Amazon spot across Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and even Brazil.

        Anonymous

Great info, thanks. So it sounds like I won't run out of things to do if I spend the full two weeks in Peru?

          Anonymous

Two weeks is nowhere near enough. You're gonna have to pick and choose probably one amongst Huaraz (Codilleras), Iquitos, Manu/Puerto Maldanado, Arequipa/Colca, Lake Titicaca, Trujilo or Nazca to add to the standard Lima and obligatory Cusco. And Cusco really is obligatory, you absolutely must not skip it.

Two weeks in Peru I would do
          >two or three days Lima
          >one week Cusco, including Macchu Picchu
          >three days Manu National Park in Amazonia, or add the Salkantay Trek to Cusco

You can't really do Lake Titicaca without going to Bolivia, and Americans have to pay $160 to enter Bolivia so you want to make the most of that visa. Huaraz, Trujilo and Arequipa are too far out of the way on a tight schedule, Nazca and Ica simply aren't worth it and Iquitos and that side of Amazonia probably require two weeks themselves.

            Anonymous

I did both sides of Titicaca lake and I found the Bolivian side very overrated. Everybody says it's better but I actually enjoyed the peruvian side more.

cusco is worth spending that much time in? is lima as boring as it looks?

              Anonymous

Well its Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. A week is almost the minimum. And Cusco is just a fun den of travellers.

Lima is not boring at all, but it doesn't require a huge time investment. Its one of the world's true culinary destinations on the level of Singapore, Chicago, Lyon etc. (though I'd argue Arequipa is actually better culinary-wise than Lima, same way Chicago > NYC and Lyon > Paris). The coast is fun and its got serious big city hustle, the backpackery bars in Miraflores are probably the best in the country aside from Iquitos.

Just imo here; but Quito is more of a quick five day-ish trip from the USA whereas Peru has way, way more going on in general that requires more like a six week to two month investment. Peru is unlike any other country in SA in that it really is a successor state to the Incan Empire. Even their Catholicism is draped in Incan and pre-Incan tradiitons. This makes it just way more interesting despite the fact that all of Peru's great cities get utterly demolished by earthquakes every sixty or so years.

Galapagos is the great equalizer. They are absolutely every bit as incredible as Macchu Picchu, Iquitos or Lake Titicaca...but again the Galapagos is not a backpacker "traveller" destination. You do that as its own standalone seven to ten day trip from the states.

I live in Miami which has non-stops to all these places so I might have some convenience that's unrealistic for a person living in, say, Denver or Seattle. So take that into consideration, still I think the core point stands.

People are right when they say, "the murder stories you hear on the News are select stories. You never hear how many murders are in America."

Absolutely correct. My friends' dad was a detective back in one of New Jerseys' big cities. There's a lot of murders & cannibals running around no one hears about. A lot of Hoodoo in the sewers, shit like that (animal & human sacrifice). In Mexico, yeah you got Santa Muerte worshippers - but most of the people who get popped in Mexico fricked with the cartels in one way or another. If you are skiddish, and avoid confrontation, you'll be fine mostly anywhere.

I camped and did some horseriding in Paraguay about 17 years ago. Other than that I stayed in Asuncion and went to Ciudad del Este. The latter is apparently unsafe but I didn’t have this feeling. It was a very messy city, interesting anyway. Full of glowies though, kek.

Spent 2 months in Mexico city and walked around fine. You just have to look like you're willing to fight, like any big city in the US. You need to look scarier than the next guy when walking around. And yeah don't dress like you have a shitload of money unless you're taking a car and not going to be out in the street. First thing I do before every trip is buy a cheap unlocked burner phone to use. Don't bring a 1000 dollar phone to some third world shithole. It basically stands for any city in the world. You just have to be a bad target for a robbery: look tough and poor, don't carry anything with you that you can't afford to lose, etc. If something happens, give up your shit immediately, live to fight another day, and go buy a new burner phone or whatever the next day. I've been to lots of shitholes and have had very few problems. Just know where you're going and the things that might make you a target

The Americas have a long way to go until they actually safe for tourists.

Reminder these countries were literally slave mega-corporations. I'm talk pure capitalism of enslaving other humans. Almost always based on the color of your skin. This has rotted the absolute shit out of the citizens brains. You can not live in such a violent culture and not cause generational brain rot.

Maybe in 300 years after these countries racemix more and become more one-faced and create history that doesn't involve slavery and more so become more used to having modern technology are they going to be actually places with wealth and happiness.

And yes I include the US in this. US is the exact same but they got rich from WW2 and are uninvadable.

If you want to go somewhere and not wear a mask then Peru should not be on your list. Brazil less so but if you want more of a guarantee you should be choosing between Mexico, Argentina, or Ecuador. If you want Central America you can add El Salvador and Costa Rica to that list. At the end of the day keep in mind that Mexico and El Salvador are the only two with 0 restrictions period.

Foreigners seem to get a lot of license in Peru to not wear the mask. That said if you're required to mask, you'll then also be required to double mask...which is fricking bonkers but literally all the Peruvians even outside are double or triple masked. Very cucked country, but as a tourist you live in a different world than them and everyone knows that and is OK with it.

So about 10 years ago I went to DR and hung out in favela's with gangsters who sold drugs and made shitty reggaeton music. I literally didn't have a single moment where I felt unsafe. I was with people from the DR though, and they completely flipped out at the shit I pulled, they didn't even want me walking outside of the walled compound they lived to go to the corner store. In the end I ended up in favela's across the street when I met these guys at said store. What are my chances at travelling solo through south America?

While I was travelling Europe in 2018, I met a ~60 y.o. guy from there and he said he didn't think he'd see it the same in his lifetime, that the storm took all the topsoil, etc. This is what you get from shit-tier management, no matter how much gibs the US throw at it.
