Good suitcases. I use the “cheap” polycarbonate ones that are like 2/3rds the price and they have served me well. Never had to use the warranty. Distinguishable and lightweight, fascinating origin story with how the original factory burned down so they just started making suitcases from the leftover metal scraps. You know what is stupid, yuppie behavior? Spending car-tier money on some shitty Louis Vuitton luggage because it totally took a lot of R&D to stamp “LV” over brown leather a thousand times

They're nice but too heavy to be practical. I roll with the Pull-up Case. It's expensive $1k, but has been absolutely worth it. I got sick of digging through normal cases that are basically just boxes.

those look cool but my travel could be 1 year+ long and i will still never bring luggage that I cant use as carry-on

Outside of specific niche business use cases what is the advantage of this compared to packing cubes?
If you're buying expensive luggage then you won't be staying anywhere without a proper wardrobe.

I don't use the wardrobes. Before I'd just open my box case and rummage through it when I needed something. The case as a wardrobe is always has the same organization and is familiar. I don't really ever unpack or repack. But yes, most properties have a wardrobe and that would be fine of course. I just love my case, like it's my travel partner.

Anyone bringing a humongous rolling bag on a trip shorter than like six weeks is so fricking dumb it blows my mind. Even then, you're going to need to wash clothes anyway so what's the point of even packing so much? Inevitably you are the homosexuals clogging up airport walkways and city sidewalks, and getting on and off planes would be at least 30% faster if all you mouth breathers brought bags that actually fit into the overhead bins and that you can actually lift above your waist. There should be a special tax for grown ass adults who act so dumb.

exactly. my airport experience is 100x better with no check in bag. I dont have to wait in some shitty line, I dont need to make sure i follow some dumbass weight class and pay $200 extra. I go in, get my eticket, go straight through security into the lounge, land and go straight to the hotel. I did south america for 9 months with a carryon and personal item. I was having my laundry picked up and done for like $5 every 2 weeks. was extremely easy and much less hassle

This. Even if you run out of clothes, in 99% of places you can pick up a few t-shirts and shorts on the cheap if you're running low. I do it on nearly all of my trips.

Anyone who brings a suitcase travelling solo for a short break is a fricking dumbass.

If you're not carrying a trunk large enough to contain three bodies you're not doing it right.

I genuinely can't imagine a single scenario, maybe outside of bringing sports equipment, that you need a checked bag.

Hiking equipment + birdwatching equipment in my case.

Exalty. If you have no hobbies that require special equipment sure I would agree there is no need for anything more than an under seat personnel bag and a ~40-50L overhead bag for weeks. Some of the people here don't understand that some hobbies use big bulky specialized equipment.

      Yes. Good suitcase though.

It depends on the type of travelling you're doing. I've travlled for a month with only a carry on and I also checked a rimowa trunk for a week stay in Paris. Difference being that it was winter and I was going to upscale places everyday. So I had to bring two suits, sport coats, overcoat, shoes...
But yes, usually a carry on is enough for any trip.
