Latin America

Is there anything worth visiting here? I don't do partying or night life or whatever, which seems to be the main thing people go to latin america for.

Yes there is. You can do business tourism if you are interested in investing here and making our countries wealthier while you earn as well. You can try to do nature tourism by visiting national parks or natural reserves.

I went to Paraguay, which was pretty rough but there are some things to see in the region. The issue is that most of the stuff isn't very well advertised so unless you like visiting nature reserves and parks or the ruins in Peru and Belize you won't really know what to look for. Having said that there's usually tons of Christian missions and other things hidden all over the region

Belize? Man, the ones in Mexico and Guatemala are much better

PYanon here, can vouch for that lack of advertising. Heck, the ministry of tourism barely concerns itself with promoting for their own locals to do some inner country tourism, to the point that I think WorldWarBot's first run did a better job at raising awareness of PY's existence to the world.
However, that lack of dedicated tourism activity can end up being beneficial if you want to do a laid-back, spontaneous trip with no glitzy tourist trap stuff to bring you down.

kek Chile is garbage, this notion that it's even comparable to Argentina is so pretentious
Argentina is dog shit, but Chile is just poorer

I've spent a lot of time in both and I don't get why everyone says Chile is better. Traveling in Argentina is a much better experience. Nice inexpensive clean hotel rooms, good cafes and restaurants, laid back people. Chile is much more expensive and the people are buttholes. The end.

Are you high? You know Chile's GDP p/c is much higher than Argentina's? Higher HDI too? Higher life expectancy too? Fricking moron.

If you want to see all the cool megalithic sites then visit Peru and northern Bolivia. If you want to see natural wonders stay along the Andes from Peru to southern Argentina. If you want to see beautiful deserts go to northern chile and northern argentina. If you want to get robbed go to northern south america at the top of the cone. If you want to be incredibly disapointed go to Brazil or Ecuador or Valenzuela. If you want to get murdered go anywhere in Central America other than Panama or Costa Rica. If you want to see old abandoned buildings, go to downtown MonteVideo in Uruguay.

All y'all that go to LatAm, do you have a good understanding of the language prior, or just wing it and learn as you're there?

      >bitches with hella ass that do anal
isn't that pretty much exclusive to Brazil and maybe Colombia

You can wing it. Spanish is so fricking easy its ridiculous, you can pick up most of what you'll need over the course of weeks. Portuguese is not easy (and sounds nothing like Spanish, dont believe the memes) but Brazilians are very understanding about it, more so than perhaps any country I've been to.

Not really, it has even less history than North America but without the advantage of being developed and having a wide array of choices for food and leisur or just the appeal of observing life in the most important country in the world. The whole continent is basically Arizona at best and Detroit at worst. Anyone I've met who has travelled or lived in South America has absolutely no interesting insights or stories that don't involve drugs or getting robbed and certainly no greater understanding of the world.

I enjoyed my month long visit to Argentina and I stayed in Buenos Aires. If you go, definitely make a trip to Iguazú Falls. Buenos Aires is amazing, especially if you're a foodie--there are endlessly good restaurants.
