San Angelo actually has a passable downtown by Texas standards, with a river path and a walkable main street. But still, for a city of 150000, you'd expect a lot more than a couple blocks of businesses.

Tru that, it couldve been worse. Still, it's nice living somewhere the tap water doesn't taste like absolute shit

Windy, dusty storms, not much to do.

But probably the nicest people I ever met were in Lubbock. The university wasn't bad. Some of my earliest and best lays were there. I remember Marilyn Manson coming to town was a huge deal back then...so funny.

Just because people are stupid doesn't make them nice. It's far from the real southern comfort in the deep south

Put it this way. If there is one town of such a size in the US I would be least nervous to lose my wallet in, it would be Lubbock.

unironically considering lubbock, will the urban decay and flat desert environment make me suicidal?

I can't explain it, but this looks comfy. That doesn't mean I think it's good, it could simply mean I live in a shittier place.

Lubbock is a pretty comfy town. Good bars, dry air, nice people. the food scene could be a bit better though
